Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

@Sophia1 like you said. The change of season is always good. But it gets tiring bye the end of it.

This morning I've been thinking about how to get more out of life. All year around... trying to make everyday a good day basically... I'm going to go through old counselling stuff... to see if I can find anything that will help.

I'm doing alright without any smokes. I'm not desperately craving or nothing. I'm distracting myself with tea and water. And went for a drive before with me dog. I'm laying down every now and again to help with the monotony of the day. I got chewys and a few sweets if i need.

@Shaz51 @Former-Member @Appleblossom how is your Sunday going?

@Sophia1 How is everything going for you at the rental place? Did you keep warm last night?

Eude

Hi, @Sophia1

I hope you are well, & the move is not too draining on you. I had the same operation, as you did (only mine was under my skull, c3 to c7), & I do understand, what you must be going through. (I had mine nearly 2 years ago) 😞

Love & Hugs!

Hello @eudemonism

I hopefully move with my cats into rental place this coming friday...

will of course need some furniture

trying very hard not to think about how that is going to be transported...as in potential high risk of damage?!?

you are doing very well with quitting smoking....

there is nothing wrong in slipping back....

you are still moving forward ..

in fact research has said that slipping back and not being hard on yourself about it...being the opposite still counting how far you have come is extremely beneficial moving forward...

allowing that you are human ...and the extremely addictive persuasions of smoking are hard to take on...

congratulations in still continuing I say..

I hope that today which was tomorrow laugh brings you rays of sunshine that will radiate through your body and warm your heart...

big hugs to you Mister and Purrpurr...

I will settle with an hello to Monti Python....still laughing at that name ...love your humour Eude...

Hello @Former-Member

I am sorry to read that you have been through similar surgery in a different section of your spine..

So close to your skull would have been even riskier..

very frightening times for you...

Have you a plate or more than one with pedicle screws also?

Lovely also to read your conversations with @eudemonism ...I can see that the two of you have a lovely friendship....

take care of each other

might have minute sections of day to pop on ...will not have time to respond to everyone...

take care

look forward to reading up on your progress...

Eude you will be able to tell me what day you are up to...even down to minutes if it helps

@Sophia1

Hi, Sophia 🙂

Nice to be a friend to you, as well as to @eudemonism I am overjoyed! Such an absolutely frightening experience, to have, Major Spinal injuries. We do not realize until it happens to us, & it is something I NEVER would have imagined it would happen to me, I'm sure you feel the same!

I had a Laminectomy Of my cervical spine, due to an accident I had years ago. It was not detected until 2 years ago. My circulation was being cut off in my hands, very painful & extremely frightening. I was told there was not a lot of hope for me at the time as my spinal cord was being crushed at c3 to c7, just 2 vertebra underneight my scull. I was diagnosed as having Mylopathy, an incurable progressive decease of the spine. Which leads to Quadriplegia, how stunned & numb I was, & still am if I really think about it.

Anyway, cutting a long distressing experience short, I had the operation, & it was 100% successful, I was told I had a Miracle. I am healed now, yet I am very careful now, & not so care free & flighty, like once I was. I have damaged body parts which give me chronic pain. Had to give up my job, of many years, & stay home now with my rescued, Fur Babies! 🙂

I had bone grafts, muscle grafts, & Steel Rods, & Screws,( c3 to c7) attached to my spine, plus fushion of c2 & c3. My spinal cord, amazingly went back to normal, once the weight was removed from it.

Love & Hugs!

hello @Former-Member

That is an incredible journey....very painful....

Your inner strength showed the doctors that you are a survivor..

I believe that would come under the category of trauma...more than shock..

You have done so well to get where you are now...

Lovely that you have rescued animals....they are so loving and grateful....they do know that they are rescued ..

my soul fur cat now on rainbow bridge was bought from an animal shelter....

We will be reunited with him as he is waiting for us on our block of land where we will build our new home...

He always had to be the first one in the door laugh...

Take care..

It is lovely that @eudemonism will have some company here....a sharing of friendship @eudemonism @Former-Member

big hug
