Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

Hearing your distress

also hearing your good sides which must have helped you come out of grief.

Sounds like your psychologist has respect for you, maybe put some of your dreams for a fuller life, by her. In the mean time give purr purr a pat from me.

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

Thanks @Bunniekins however I think the main problem solving will have to be done bye myself.

Purr has gone walk about @Appleblossom I'll be worried about her until she comes home again.

@Appleblossom@Bunniekins

I'm still finding it hard to believe that the mental health system have done what they have done me. It all started out because I posed a threat (in theory) to the person whom took the life of my brother. And then posed a threat to myself (in theory) and then bam! My journey of falling through the cracks of the system began... Diagnosis upon diagnosis..medication upon medication.. Until I'm absolutely screwed up and disabled... I find it really hard to believe and comprehend aye..

And now the mother of all resentments I'm faced with - is what the mental health system has done to me, is doing to me & will be doing to me (unless put to a stop!...) - basically the way I see things when it comes to people posing a threat to themselves or others (which is what the foundation of the mental health system is based around) is - people who pose a threat to themselves are worried about society coming against them for the wrong and injustices they've committed... Right? Quite possibly true? And when people pose a threat to others - they are worried about the wrong and injustices society has committed against them. Right? Quite possibly true?.. I can't fricken work it out hey... It's all wrong!..

Then the mental health system step in and intervene like the peace keeper, concerned citizen and server of justice in the school yard between the bully and the bullied... Between the victim and the abuser... (or vice versa) become the bully of all bullies! Become the abuser of all abusers. Right? Quite possibly true? And falsely start making claims of mental illness mentally illness... And start brainwashing people! Right? Literally? Quite possibly true?

When truth be known... I was a perfectly normal young man... I who didn't have everything he needed!.. And was desperately crying our for help!.. And irrespective of any diagnosis or medication... Or professional opinion!.. Or potential and speculated results of treatment... I already had an uphill battle on my hands as a perfectly normal human being...

Hi @eudemonism

It helps me understand you as a person rather than a diagnosis. Your post made sense to me. I hope it helps YOU to write. We are told in psychology all about the fight or flight biological instincts. It is mainstream now.

I was curious about the lack of material on grief on this site when I joined. They have put more on after i mentioned it. I still believe there is always a reason behind mental illness.

SO you spent a lot of time battling your natural urges as a result of complex grief. Boy, so did I.

Hope you can see my heart symbol, simply as a sign that I have walked a similar but of course different individual journey,

Take care Eude

I hope the effects of the medications you have been on, do not continue to overwhelm you as you sort throught various miasmas. A step at a time.

Hi @Sophia1 all is well here I suppose. Ups and downs as usual. However I'm thinking that Alot of my anxiety, tension and restlessness is medication induced. Which is super frustrating... Along with the sleeping disturbances, insomnia and pacing... Got doctors app today. And I'm taking a 2 way communications checklist. Just so my file is updated with my opinion about my situation rather then a professionals. Eude

@Appleblossom yea it's tough going from day to day. The side effects are very chaotic. They make it very hard for me to do anything other then stress out. Eude

Hello @eudemonism

I only just saw your post here...I was actually busy writing an epic response to your post on the other thread...

Yes great stuff taking your list...

two ways communication sounds like a brilliant idea..

emphasise that you need the doctor to write his answers down for you so that you can remember them...

if you are like me when overwhelmed I ask questions...get answers I need then a few days later cannot recall unless I have written information..

You are spot on that your file needs to have your opinion about your health and welfare....the session is about you..

Don't forget your pen..

This is a long way that you have come...you have brought about this yourself....you are taking control of your health and letting the medical world know about your needs and how your life is being impacted on a daily basis....the doctors can only help us if they have all of our information..

you are strong Eude

big hug

Sophia

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

@Sophia1I kind of think that my perceived suffering serves a purpose for an awful lot of people. To the point of being convinced that it is my main meaning and purpose in life. You know what I mean?

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

@Sophia1 I'm questioning the relationships in my life. Because it's like if I'm not the poor, the sick, the needy and the one who is suffering in the relationship. It's like the balance goes out of wack. And they then want nothing to do with me. And of I try to reverse the situation. All hell breaks loose and they punish me. What you think? Does this make sense to you? Eude.
