Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

There is no right or wrong in changing rooms around where you live....or are you questioning what others who can be critical and judgemental might think?

The answer to that you know already...they need to mind their own business....

You could try just changing a few things around within the room that you are now living in....Have you any colour in there?

pictures...posters....artwork...?

You play a guitar....having that sitting in a corner adds interest to a room...

a simple change can make the appearance of the room look different ....

a small collection of books on top of a piece of furniture.....

a candle

let me know what you come up with if you would like to try this.....

speak soon

Good morning @eudemonism

Change can be frightening if it is something that we do not want for ourselves...

When we bring about change,,,it still can have an element of ..."is this a good idea"

Small change within your home as in moving a few things around can be better managed thinking about it from the point of view....If I don't like it ..I can put it back to how it was....

Or it might even lead me to be inspired and notice something else that you might like to try....the results can be uplifting..

If you choose to make some change no matter how small or large....it will be your choice....leave it like that for a few days so that you can see it in the daytime...nightime...sun coming in...stand in different parts of the room...look at from different angles...

Big change is better attempted after you have experienced with minor change....

All sounds very serious and deep...However...this is your home...an extension of you...the idea of making a change comes from you...so reward yourself and try it out...

Lastly take no notice of criticism of others....

If they say something critical...you could choose to respond with...."Really???...I love it..."

Good luck...can be an exciting time...

Let me know how it works out...

@Sophia1

It's probably not going to make any difference in the long run. So I'm thinking I just leave it as is.

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

Good afternoon @Sophia1

No word from you today? I hope everything is alright?

I'm really quite fed up with the mainstream system. It's literally like a trap. It's very frustrating to be caught up in.

I'm living from pay cheque to pay cheque and from problem to problem. Sometimes I really don't know what life is about...

I had a drink and smoke the other day. So it totally sent me off the rails for an afternoon, evening an morning. Came good though. I got some positives out of it.

I'm due for my depot in 3 days and I'm going to be telling doctor. I want it put on my file. That I'm over dealing with the depot side effects. And list the side effects one bye one. And specifically say. I'd like to be changed to suitable morning and evening oral meds. With the intention of it making me function better, feel better and to get more out of each day. There has to be alternatives? I've got quite a bit going on these days. I've got options. - But still it feels like a fine balance between my stability and my uncertainty of mind. Because it depends a lot on support I'm getting from others. And acceptance from others. It's not my doing. It's the doing of others in my life....???

I'm a keen fisherman, a keen gardener, I'm an animal person, I love my car, I'm a house proud homebody, and I love my technology and Internet, I love food, I love time with family and friends. I enjoy being outdoors, I enjoy community functions. I got a lot going on.

Hey Eude

Do you know the Hey Jude song by The Beatles?

I often think of that song when I type Eude...

You do have a lot on your plate.....the cost of living has risen so much...making it extremely hard on so many more people..

This country must look like a laughing stock to the rest of the world with the antics of governments....

I did see another specialist this lunchtime....along with house preparation for prospective buyers....4 groups coming through so fingers and everything crossed please...

The specialist was very professional and caring....He allowed me to feel relaxed and treated me with great respect...He also asked how I was feeling in myself and my understanding about it all as I have seen a few different people now...

There is a slightly different diagnosis and further tests ...I go into hospital as a day patient next monday...he needs to rule out no cancer or other stuff....then another more complicated test to follow later....

The latter part of your post ...I felt that you are strong in your convictions now about speaking up for your rights as a human being.....deserving a quality of life....

your mind..your body...your life...

yes I think well done in writing down every single symptom...side effect...setback...hindrance....devastation even that you have dealt with for some time now...

You have attempted to explain in the past and not been taken seriously....

Yes there are alternatives.....there will be trials....periods of testing to see what works...

you can do this Eude...

All of those interests are brilliant...you wrote about loving spending time with family and friends....well they are very lucky to have you Eude...

You have brought a a big smile to my face....a beaming smile...

Good luck with your appointment....

Yes you do have a lot going on and you have a lot of living to do....

@Sophia1

Good to hear from you - as it always is... Yea for awhile there I thought of that song. I must listen to it again and see if something else is revealed to me through the lyrics.

Yea government antics... I respect they are people with needs and wants. (politicians) and I respect they have a job to do. But the majority of the stuff going on in the media. I just don't understand or can't comprehend. It's frustrating because it's out of my control...

Yes I'm in the middle of writing a brief, detailed explanation that I'm going to present to the new psychiatrist who will be treating me. My question / 's as a suggestion to what I would like to happen. And my experience of symptoms. What life is like. What I'd like it to be like. Problems areas. Risk factors. A back up plan. Where I've come from. Where I'm going. And ultimate goals. What I've got going on which is keeping me well. I'll dot point things and keep it brief. I got a few months to work on it...

+I'm really excited about this ndis stuff. Really hoping and praying for positive change to come about from th ndis planning and package.

@Sophia1 looks like I'll be on morning and evening meds in no time. Just gotta do my research about what meds I'm going to be asking for. I got a few ideas. I'll research medication reviews before I do anything else. They'll be closely monitoring me to make sure I don't become unwell again. And to make sure new meds are working properly. Really looking forward to ridding myself of depot side effects and getting onto something that stabilizes me mood. Helps me sleep and relax. And something that gets me through each day & gets me out and about. Eude.
