Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

Thank you for being so understanding... I'm contemplating giving up cigarettes and coffee... And I know that's it's a good 3-4 days of withdrawing... A good week of adjustment... And a good fortnight to a month... To come good...

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

@Sophia1 Mister noticed but did not care much. Had a sniff and look and moved on. Where as Purrpurr was a little more curious and cautious... She could sense an element of danger although not afraid... The snakes name is Monti / Hoodlum I'm opened ended about sex at the moment... I fed Monti yesterday... (all went well) She / He is sunbaking / basking today... I'm still in the hot and cold phase of owning a python at the moment... Truth be known the snake is probably very cautious, scared, timid, shy and afraid also very sensitive... I had a very close call with a venomous snake as a child...

As for smoking and coffee... They are both stimulants and my lifestyle and routine would completely change If not using these substances and I think I use them heavily to be more active and to counteract the effects of medication... So without them I'd probably be doing a lot less early mornings, Alot less writing, Alot less Interacting with people, and would need to relearn most things as coffee and cigarettes have been the motivating force behind everything I have been doing in my day to day life for such a long time... Very daunting obstacle really and indeed I get frustrated when professionals think they know what's going on!

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

Hello @eudemonism

Your dog acting indifferently and cat showing some wariness is probably a typical reaction for both animals....

Yes I imagine the python is frightened...

Having come from the vets to a new home is unsettling for all animals....

although some rescue animals show relief and ecstasy at having been rescued...

interesting that you had a close call with a venomous snake as a child and yet still have a desire to own one...

I know you have wanted to give up coffee and cigarettes for some time now....

the main thing is be proud of yourself for trying...

very few people succeed the first few tries...

the only thing that I can suggest...you probably don't need me to...as I am sure that you have been told a trillion times...

try cutting down on cigarettes....reducing number of cups of coffee gradually...

have you tried to putting the timer on your mobile on...when you can have another one....?

Yes doctors tell you briefly what they have researched...then charge you the earth...

actually there are some good ones out there...

no matter what good luck

and....

congratulations for wanting to try again....

@Sophia1

The snake was at vets before I got him off previous owner. It was explained to me bye person I bought a from.

Yea with my coffee and smoking issues. I think the first thing will be getting off depot injection and onto morning uppers and evening downers. Totally tired of the up and down mood swings of depot injection. It literally driving me crazy. So long road ahead. I'm hoping for good anti depressants in morning and good sedatives / anti psychotic at night. Then wean from depot meds onto oral meds. And then go from there... Then hopefully I'll get rid of all the depot side effects and huge 28 day mood swings and stabilize and in turn be more able to function properly and manage the needs of my mind, body and soul alot easier. So new side effects to learn to live with... I should be fine as I feel oral meds will be gentle compared to heavy side effects of depot injection... Will be extremely frustrated is psychiatrist does nothing....

The phone alarm is a great idea. I did it once bye the clock. But ended up going steam again. Sorting medication out is first thing...

Hi @Sophia1

I'm a little temperamental when it comes to fluctuations of the barometer... I feel the pressure changes in the atmosphere in my mood - big time. I literally start tripping out hey!

I had a win today... So went an done some food shopping at the local grocery store... Was much needed...

Yea I've got some discussing, negotiating and explaining to do with the psychiatrist...

How is everything else going for you? I hope all is well 💘

The side effects are officially driving me around the bend. Something needed to be done about it yesterday! I'm sick and tired of dealing with the side effects 24/7-365 it truly is beyond a joke! I honestly thinking that medical cannabis maybe the best option I've got. Unfortunately I'm caught in a broken and fractured mental health system. Which pushes dangerous, toxic and poisonous pharmaceutical drugs. And sees no error in their ways. My blood is boiling! It ain't right! It ain't fair! And it ain't justified!

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

Hello @eudemonism

Your moods being affected by the barometer....I love the way you phrased that...

seasonal mood something or other I believe one school of thought is...

I know that I am affected by the wind at times....

I also hate humidity...

The realisation of having to live with side effects 24 hours a day... 365 days a year must have such a huge effect on your life...

A new psychiatrist has to listen to you when you explain this....I am not sure how long you have been on that particular medication ....I have read that there are different medications now...again not sure re the injection side...

there is a thread on the carers forum side ...where dadcaringalone writes about his son...I believe that he is on an injection...although he will not be able to discuss drug names...you might find it helpful reading some of the symptoms that others have...how they attempt to adapt to deal with them...

This is just a suggestion...as always...

Main thing is write down every single feeling...side effect that you have....all of the ways your life is impacted..along with all of the things that you are unable to do...

The psychiatrist will then see how serious you are about improving your life...as well as how long you have had to deal with this...

Yes I agree with you ...the mental health system in this country is fractured...archaic ....in need of a complete overhaul...

The sad thing is that most countries in the world are no better....Apart from some of the scandinavian countries...

How are Monti/hoodlum...Mister and Purrpurr....enjoying some sun?

Great that you have been able to buy some much needed groceries...

Take care...

speak soon

Yea animals are doing fine. They need ongoing care and maintenance though.

I've been putting this off for ages.... But I'm wanting to move bedroom from front room to back room. And to move lounge room to front room. And to then turn lounge room into kitchen table and chairs room. - I've been putting it off for ages... You know... One of those small thoughts of change that will be good and positive which we never get around to... Debating with internal reasons which are for and against our own intuitive idea of what is right and best for ourselves and lives...

Yea psychiatrist app will be interesting... Praying and having faith it will all go well...

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

Hello @eudemonism

I used to do that when I lived on my own...move furniture around within the one room....or from one room to another...

it is actually a great feeling once done...

Get some help though...

Even moving ornaments or pictures or sentimental possessions can change the feel of a room...

It really does bring about some change within at the same time...

I say go for it if you have some help..

watch your back
