Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

Hello @eudemonism

You are sounding brighter....achieving all of those tasks has renewed your energy levels which is so good to read about...

I agree that registering the car for a year when you are able to next week is an excellent idea ..helpful in organising your budget....

Mister is officially registered again...bless him...how is his paw now? does he let you touch it gently yet?

Fishing gear...spring coming up....some lovely relaxing spots to go to ...when I first read your response I read it as galoshes..not molasses...an example of where the mind can do predictive reading and miscontrue the meaning...

Molasses from a health point of view...start slowly...as in not every day..I read that people's bodies react differently..

Sounds like a better alternative to sugar....

I love the library...a great resource......to be able to borrow and read so many books...we are very fortunate...they have different groups...events...speakers on at various times of the year ...I hope to attend later...

I borrowed two more...humourous novels...this time...I love losing myself in a good novel..

That is a good point.....

It's really great to read about stuff from the treatment side of things, rather then being treated side of things. I'm finding an abundance of good information that I'm learning from. All very relevant to people and life in general.

The physiotherapy session went well...He is pleased with my progress with exercising in the pool....he tried out two different meditation processes where he measured the electrical activity in my brain....second one showed vast improvement...he was very pleased with the results...indicating that I was able to meditate with different distractions once my brain worked out what I was doing...another session next week..

It is hard when it first hits us how our parents are showing signs of aging...I remember various moments feeling that...also realising that I too am aging....as are my children....

despite this being a biological fact...actually becoming aware and noticing is different ...I hope that you get to spend time with them where you can appreciate one another...

enjoy your reading....:

Sophia

Hello @eudemonism

Great to read that you are thinking about employment of some sort...

starting off with something part-time would be a good way to begin...as will be tiring...

also more achievable ongoing...

volunteering is a good way of getting into a routine...

Do you have a social worker or advocate?

If not google volunteering in australia...then your state...

do you use the internet access at your library? easier to do research on if you don't have a laptop or desktop...

Perhaps concentrate on your focus on stopping alcohol for the time being....

Cutting back on coffee and cigarettes is a good idea too...

Giving everything up at once is not good for your health....Can put too much stress on your body

The front page of sane website has headings at the top

click on mental health and illness- takes you to Facts & Guides

Scroll down the page and you will find a column titled : Drugs and alcohol ...smoking and mental illness is a subtitle in that column....click on there ...you will find information on quitting carefully.....you could also ring sane helpline for someone to give you some more suggestions...information on other helplines ...resources...

let me know how you get on...keep on writing about your ideas and progress..another form of support for you...

Sophia

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

@Sophia1 paid people wouldn't be in my life unless it were for the money they're receiving. And that's about the extent of their ability to help.

Mister and his foot are fine. It's what you get when you keep pets. I'm hoping I never have to give them up due to financial reasons.

I've come to realise the more money I have the more problems I will have. It can't fix my problems or medication side effects and actually causes huge amounts of stress.

I'm struggling with my symptoms, the side effects, managing life, managing a social life, managing finances, the pets, the house, the car... It's all rather overwhelming...

But what do ya do? Eude.

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

Hello @eudemonism

Sorry to hear that life is getting on top of you...

overwhelming feelings from side effects of medication and dealing with finances is the pits...

I do feel for you ....

I try to make suggestions ...so that you know that somebody is genuinely listening and cares...

Having support is important....

you do have support on here...

I wish for you to have better support in the medical world too....

You have such a good heart....

you are a strong person....you do get back up time and time again...

keep on writing about the hard times on here...a way for you to release those pent up emotions rather than push them back down....

I am here for you ....as are others...

take care

Sophia

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

@Sophia1 thank you. I'm working on some theories that I think are very insightful, I think they will also help you if you're prepared to listen and apply them to your life. Also, the other day a question came to my mind, this question was for you...

What do you think your life is honestly about? From your mind too your body, from each day too the next, from your past too your present too your future. From inward influences too outward influences too third party influences?.. I want to know...

I'm finally realizing that every aspect of me has the right to be respected, and has the right to treated as equal, and I also have the responsibility to treat people according to this in return. And when it don't happen for myself, I start bottling up resentment in the unconscious mind, I forgive forgive all the injustice and wrong that has ever occurred toward me, for myself and so I can move on. And i stop it in its tracks and place it back upon the instigator these days. This way I feel no obligation to make it up to anyone, or be submissive to their struggle for superiority, or feel any resentment for another person's interpretation of right and wrong upon myself. (and the counter words and deeds it produces) . It also goes to the reward of appropriate behaviour spectrum. Eude 😊

Hello @eudemonism

Yes I would love to listen and apply your ideas to my life...You have written with great depth and insight...

I need to have some time to think clearly about my response....

Your questions are very interesting ...I want to respond with respect...

I genuinely feel honoured that you have asked about me Eude...The fact that you are interested in who I am is a compliment for me....So thank you...I shall write when my mind is clearer..

In the meantime I hope that you have some moments where your mind is resting...you are able to move yourself away from your thoughts...practising mindfulness...

am about to do the same..

speak later

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

@Sophia1 You don't have to answer the question, even if it provokes thoughts within yourself, lol I'll be happy with that. As your questions do for me.

Some of your posts are very confronting, and indeed provoke feelings of uncertainty and insecurity within myself, which I really don't want to admit to or face. And in all honesty, the answers for some of these questions, may need to come from an external source other than myself. As I'm not properly equipped too do the answering.

I'm writing a list of all the authors an book titles I'm wishing to read, I would so dearly love a couple nice big book shelves with many books which I've personally personally selected for myself, so I can build a collection, and spend years upon years reading and learning. 😊
