Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

Yea I've always got my eye on his nail. Especially when he's walking and running around. I'm always checking to make sure it don't become a problem. Meaning need clipping. I also look and see if it is effecting him when he's standing.

I used to be able to massage all of his feet and in between his toes. He loved it. And I found it therapeutic (bonding) but since his injury. He's been super sensitive with his back left foot.

I was in discussion with a friend today... And read about equilibrium and homeostasis the other day... And I came up with the conclusion statement of. "I'm just observing how the world effects me and how I effect the world... I'm still trying to work out what the world is trying to do..." world meaning... Reality as a complete picture, in the past, present and future tense... I'm not in control of anybody or the world... But, it does effect me... And the world is not in control of me... (within reason)

I was also thinking about rights and responsibilities today. Every now and again It comes to mind. And slowly but surely it's having more significant meaning in my day to day life and my relationships. And how I look at people in general. Very important for everybody to learn about and know well.

All the best for this blustery evening we're going into. It has been cloudy, blustery and moderating all day today. There was a little rain in the morning also...

Good morning @eudemonism

Colder here this morning...the wind is cool....yesterday and during the night ...early hours of the morning..the rain was so very heavy...We have a tin roof and the sound of the heavy rain hitting the roof is incredible...I love it...although still in the back of my mind have hopes that the ceiling does not crash down....when I lived in the outskirts of the city before moving up here...I had a very old cottage with original ceilings...during a year of very heavy rainfall...a box gutter could not cope and one morning about 3.00am the ceiling crashed down in the living room....it was so frightening being awoken by that...insurance sorted it eventually...still think of it when the rain is very heavy though..

Mister allowing you to massage his paws like that is a great sign of love and trust between owner..dog....definitely bonding...that area might be inflamed.....do you notice him licking his paw at all? I know that you do not really want to take him to a vet and you know him best...something to have in the back of your mind if his symptoms worsen...great that you are keeping a close check on his nail and foot...I so miss having a dog...

I did read up about the homeostasis and remember hearing about it in early school years to do with biology..have not heard of it used in the context of living and the world...finding equilibrium...

I think that the world happens around all of us regardless of what is happening to each of us personally....the past has already happened and cannot be changed...how we think about the past can be changed starting with our thought process....the future noone knows...I think that you are working on your thought process and have been for some time...definitely the period of time that you have been writing on here...

Your friend sounds like an interesting person to talk to....I love having conversations like that...very hard to find people who want to engage in conversation of any depth....perhaps the deep thinkers are those who are searching for answers about themselves and therefore stretching the capacity that their brain works...

I am enjoying these conversations Eude...keep on writing...you are helping others with this thread...

His foot / nail is fully healed up... Although I think it would be tender sometimes when touched and moved about. He is slowly getting more comfortable with me touching it again.

Yea on an individual level... Life can be very strange and difficult to deal with. Especially when MI is apart of someone's life.

Apart of life that I feel I'm missing out on... Is, being able too find and maintain a partnership with a woman.

It's always been something I've thought about. And is apart of someone's needs. But I give it a bit of thought and settle on a conclusion. And then move on.

I suppose it's actually hugely important for someone's health and well-being...

Re: Coming to terms with reality

Hello @eudemonism

I understand about wanting to have a relationship with a female....a sharing of mind and body is a part of who we are....finding someone who can respect us and accept us for who we are takes time...

there are also many different ways of having a relationship with another...not necessarily living together...

There are many others on the forums who feel as you do....there are also stories of people meeting someone..

life does not tell us what comes next......

learning to like ourself and accept our faults...quirks is a huge step forward...others are drawn to people who are happy within themselves...also learning to listen and be interested in another person's stories as communication is so very important..

learning to compromise without compromising ourselves...

Life can suddenly introduce someone into your life without warning..

Reality is that....the world....media depict that something is missing in your life if you are not in a relationship....

There are so many people who are with someone yet so very unhappy...they often stay with that person for fear of being on their own..financially committed...or those who are controlled and very unhappy...some couples constantly argue or hardly speak..

many people learn the art of being happy with their own company....sharing their time with friends or family at certain times..enjoying their interests and feeling content...

understand where you are coming from....I think this subject comes up on the social spaces side...as well as experiences and stories....have a look at some of the threads of the younger members...they might be able to tell you more about the many dating sites...latest technology...

Thanks for that message. It's very informative and helpful.

I think when I'm struggling I instinctively try to turn toward a caring female figure who understands and can help. And I start thinking about the whole relationship thing aswell. But get turned off because of negative self talk and dismiss the whole idea. Before I've even given it ago even though it would probably be the best thing for my health and well-being.

Life is full of ups and downs, I'm not going to sugar coat things. Life is also full of trial and tribulation...

Living with mi is a full time job hey... Even at the best of times I'm still very sensitive and fragile toward the world around me. It's hard work.

Re: Coming to terms with reality

hello @eudemonism

yes life is full of ups and downs....having health issues can compound the downs....

the ups can help lift us out of the pits.....

being gentle and non judgemental with ourselves is testing also ...

very much worth the effort...we are human and accepting that there are going to be difficult days is a part of any human being's life...

one day at a time breaks it down into being more achievable I have found...

I am working very hard at focussing on the little things that make me smile each day ....looking ahead or at the whole picture is far too overwhelming at times...

take care
