Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

@Bunniekins dealing with it alone!.. Is the worst thing of all... Not seeking help and being able to openly talk about the essence and the root of all the symptoms... Is the worst thing of all... Especially when it's through fear of judgement, shame and punishment... It's scarey... And because it's literally like letting who you want too be and the life you want to lead slip through your fingers...

@eudemonism eudemonism whatever you think or have done cannot be as bad as what you think. I know there is no way that you are as bad as what you think you have been in the past. If you want to talk to me about it believe me I am unshockable.... nothing you say wll shock me at all.

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@Bunniekins I'll keep it between myself and the counsellor. As this is a public forum where anyone can see (I don't want that). That's rational right?

I'm doing well. But I'm not doing well. It just depends on how I think about things.

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@eudemonism Hi eudemonism well I am living in the moment so to speak. My daughter and I have been talking online and she has been telling me all about mindfullness which works for me so I am absorbing it and using it to feel my best and it is working at the moment at least 🙂

She should be coming home about Wednesday which will be great and her mood has improved imensely too so I am very happy about that. My son is in a good place (he is a bit mad atm but at least it is a happy mad). So all is good at my end. thank you :).

How about you this morning? How are you going?

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@Bunniekins once I've let go of the ideal life I could be living. It's not too bad. I just have to accept a lot of the problems I'm dealing with and the situation I'm stuck in. Otherwise I'll drive myself mad.

Yes mindfulness is good. Searching within for that peace of mind and those answers. For myself... It's easy to let the balance of chaos and order become uneven. It's also easy to forget what's really going on and what needs to be done about it.

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@eudemonism Yes my ideals in life were totally different 15 years ago when all I wanted was an alpha romao gtv and a farm (in that order) :). Now I am happy with my clapped out car and my rental villa. It would be easy for me to worry about the future but that would be a fruitless endeavour. I am far better off just accepting the beautiful sunshine streaming through my window as I write this and the warmth of the day ahead.

As for what needs to be done and how to go about it I just go with the flow and sway with the breeze these days (thanks to medication) before I fought myself and everyone around me. Not any more though 🙂

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@Bunniekins Yea that sounds wise. I'm someone who blames. Whatever problem I'm dealing with. Whatever I'm stewing about. Whatever I'm wanting but not getting. I quickly find someone to blame. And it's basic stuff. Like being discontented. being on medication. My body image. My life not working out how I wanted it too. It's a bad habit hey. This way I don't have to be accountable or take responsibility for everything that's ever gone wrong.

What are you doing tonight?

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@eudemonism Well eudemonism I am older than you arent I by quite a bit and I think that makes a huge difference. Life is to short to blame others or yourself. Shait happens. No one is perfect. We can try not to make the same mistake twice but with mental illness that is hard ... I have made the same mistake many times but I cannot sh myself up about it it wont solve the problem. So I try and get on with things and get overmyself. Try harder and love myself and others faults and accept that I am not perfect and that is okay. 🙂

I am going to be online for another hour and then it is a bit of tv and some reading then off to bed. A quiet and soothing night for this lil black duck :).

Have you got anything special on tonight?
