Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

Hi @Former-Member I've come good and I'm sailing on an even keel again. I reached out when I was down and out yesterday. And the support came through today. Bless their souls. I'd be lost without support. And plus all of you. Being concerned. And making sure everything alright.

Just went I think I got it under control. Another storm rolls through the valley.

Hi @frog thanks for your input and sharing your prospective. It's all relatable stuff. That I'm sure many experience. I hope all in the same scenario are gaining and not loosing ground. As this is so important in maintaining hope and faith. Being stuck in a mindset is so tricky for the Individual to deal with and manage.

Impossible to do it alone.

@Bunniekins from what I understand. It means. The act of practising happiness. There is a few variables of the word.

Yea re pdoc I've found a variety of supports you can be open and honest with help. Their not miracle workers. I'm in the process of writing a letter to my pdoc. So my file can be updated with my own words. My own agenda. And be focused around my own goals.

Really glad you've found that even keel again, @eudemonism, mine's still a little precarious, but getting there. Spent most of the day in my tiny outdoors with seeds and pots and a great deal of hope and trust that old seeds will still germinate.

Yeah, those storms, sometimes they just hit full force out of nowhere!

@eudemonism 'The act of practising happiness.' That is interesting because I have been trying to do that more for myself in the last little while.

I like the idea of a letter with your own goals. My old pdoc was great but he never asked me what I wanted to do it was alwasy his suggestion.

Hi @Former-Member doing a bit of potting sounds a nice way to spend some time. I hope you start to feel a bit better soon.

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@Former-Member do you find it hard to imagine who is behind these profiles and what their circumstances are, or haven't you given it much thought? 😶

Yea I figure we're all just as needy as one another. And it's better not to discriminate between who is more in need. 💜

There's nothing worse than needing support and not having it. So I try to overly support people and hope it comes back.

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@Bunniekins Yea bye pdoc I take it you mean psych doc? I've found they're a tad. Text book one size fits all solution. Give myriads of individuals the same drugs and keep them coming back 😀
I think happiness is achieved through others. Some may disagree. But that's probably because they've achieved it through others. 💗
Being there for people in need. Or who want help. Is the best way I've found. Rather ironic when you consider. Some get paid for this. 😶

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@eudemonism I'm not sure I understand your question.

Would you mind explaining what prompted it? Maybe my wording has been insufficient to fully indicate my meaning in something I've said somewhere.

I'm sensing that I have offended you in some way. If so, do please let me know how so I can make sure I don't do it again. Perhaps it's just my fragile emotional state telling me that.

I'll try to give an answer to the question I see here, although the emoticon has thrown me sideways.

Actually, yes, I give a very significant amount of thought to 'the experience of the person' and 'the person' behind the profile. I have memory issues from a head injury, so I can't always remember everything about the person, and I don't take notes. I do my very serious best to try to support and to not offend but understand that that's not always possible.

Now I'm wondering if you have difficulty imagining who is behind the profiles and what their circumstances are, and if you've given it much thought?

Re: Coming to terms with reality

I've supported others for the greater part of my life, in a variety of different working positions, in home life and in volunteer and service organisation situations, and just out of consideration for others, thinking, hoping, at one time innocently believing that living so was the best way to live a good and honourable life.

edited because I said too much ...
