Yet another problem

Yet another problem

.....if its not repressed dreams or my parents is this stress. Am I too sensetive?

Two years ago, my childhood sweetheart and i broke up. It was very sad but i had to keep myself safe. He is diagnosed chronic ( meaning all the time...) paranoid schizophrenia and i live with my own issues.

Since then, he has quit the drugs and alcohol. He was living four five hours drive away and he moved nearer to me about 3 months ago and wrote me a card. we are both almost 50 years old. We both see our mothers a lot. Me...not really wanting to too much and him because he is incapable to make friends in the community without a bit of a push.

i see my Psychotherapist....im dealing with my own stuff. Its difficult that my life is centred around my medication effects and...brain damage. . I further realise via therapy how badly ive been treated ny my family....for just being a woman.

He is taking responsibility for himself......though i wasnt the reason why he quit he says he used to think...if he changed his life Round......i would be his prize...... but we are only friends....we just really like spending time together.

his Mum continues to hate me. When we broke up she sending me threatening emails and ì responded by writing that i deaRly wanted our relationship to work and i was in danger from his alcohol use and the hospitals were not listening to me and how dangerous he was. I said if she kept up the emails i wou.d need to consider putting a restraining order on her.

We stay over at each others place.....only as friends.....i dont think i can develop anymore, if she doesnt change .....im happy to walk away if she keeps on with her shenanighans....she calls him and asks if im staying the night and she will not see him when im here.

I feel like im falling apart again. In the past, she would call my Mum and start the complaining.....my Mum would join in. I dont think i could do that again.

it makes me ill tthat im dealing with this at my age. As well as this that i do need a .ot of support.

Can anyone comment ?

Re: Yet another problem

Hi @Appleblossom yes my brother has responded, he said we can talk sometime in the coming days.

Its funny that somehow my thoughts and feelings seem to revolve around him and my family even just through phone and texts.

I have been thinking about hospital and going back in. I feel like my energy is running out at my fathers, I am not sure but I was a bit better when I first moved in I am trying to get my way through but i am not sure I will be able to do so.

My panics are basically all the time as well, its like there is never a moment of rest or happiness, just a continuous struggle and I try listen to people and my father but I am just not sure staying at my fathers is the right thing, but I have been admitted to hospitals around 11 times and I do not know if I have the energy for that 😕

Re: Yet another problem

I am glad your brother will talk to you soon.

It makes sense to me that as they are so important in your formative years. It is extra hard these days with the cost of accomodation. I lived in share places a lot and also little flats on my own. Is there any way you can get assisted housing and try and maintain relationships without going in to hospital? A social worker who can help ...

You have worked so hard since you have been on sane forums.

Re: Yet another problem

Have you found any calming things that you know works for you?

It is pretty "normal" at your age to want some space from your father. Perhaps you can try and arrange things gradually so that you dont leave it til you feel forced into a big flare up and he can help you settle in.

Having already had hospitalisations you know that the type of thing that they can offer is limited. You have to do what is right for you.

🐺🐓🐔🐣🐤🐦🐢🐶🐕🐩

but hospital can give Lee a break from his home with his Dad.

It feels like he also gets to know himself somewhere safe ? Can you feel that @Appleblossom?

Do you agree or not ?

Re: Yet another problem

Maybe @PeppiPatty but I really dont know the situation well enough.

I was hearing that @Troubled_One was thinking hospital might not be that much of a haven.

I know that "the system" is trying to manage things in the community and sometimes there are supports in place that could be asked for.

I dont believe in giving advice, I am not normal enough for that.

but if I join the conversation I try and gently open it up a bit. Maybe not my idea but an new idea emerges that is good it. doesnt matter .. I just responded with good will in my heart and hope for the best.

Re: Yet another problem

I dont know him as well as you, but I remember when my brother was having a hard time at home, they (doctors) wanted him to live with me so that he could get a break from mum, then he did set up his own place .. and baked bread, grew fantastic vegetables and painted his place out in the greatest colours,

if it isnt too far from his family, he can get space and support. Then the solution would be more secure for him than yoyoing in and out of hospital.

But I dont really talk about others without them being part of the conversation .. So I am going to have send a big hug and hi to @Troubled_One.

Re: Yet another problem

@Appleblossom Thanks for the kind words and support.

Between you and Anne I am not sure which option is best. All I know is at my fathers the walls are caving in and it does not look like getting much better. I guess I could be just sick of the struggle, I can go in hospital and see what its like, see if its is any better do I take the risk, I was insane in the hospital last times should I take the risk?
