Re: I dont know what to do next

@Sahara yeah everyone is at home tonight so that's good. We have no plans just watching TV if my wife gets home early enough we might go for a walk. I just took the dogs for a walk with my eldest daughter and now I will just wait for my wife to get home thank you again 😊❤️

That's great that you have company tonight, @Ant7. It can help to be around people, just having others in the house is nice. I love it when my husband is home and just pottering about in the shed or in his office. It makes me feel secure.

Tomorrow will be another day... lets hope it is a better one for you.

xx

@Sahara Hi I just got back from my appointment it went well she was really nice but I dont know if it will work out She only works every second Thursday and every Saturday so I could only see her once a month. And it was expensive too

Hi @Ant7,

I'm glad it went well with the psychologist. Once a month appointments would be ok to see how you go, I guess, especially if it was expensive.... I wonder did you get a 'mental health care plan' from the GP? Because Medicare should be subsidsing you psychologist appointments. Some psychologists only charge you the rate that Medicare will cover and you will not be out of pocket at all. Other psychologists charge an amount over and above what Medicare covers, so you only pay the difference.

How are you feeling today?

Re: I dont know what to do next

@Sahara I feel quite good at the moment it was good to talk to someone in person about how I am feeling I think it helped. I felt a lot better after it but I sort of feel guilty because my wife doesn't know it may seem weird. I got the mental health plan but it is $155 for the appointment and I only get $80 back. I really liked her and I felt comfortable with her but it just seems like it will be hard to work out

Never feel guilty about seeking help, @Ant7. You are entitled to get all the help you need.

Yes, it seems you psychologist is expensive but if you get along well with her, then I think it is worth it. I think you will be able to claim back the difference in her fee on your tax, but don't quote me. One year I spent a small fortune on a psychologist, so I claimed it as 'medical expences' on my tax. This seemed to work. If unsure, you should ask an accountant, though, as I am no expert on this.

For me, the cost of treatment was worth it.... but if you need to see a psychologist that is a bit cheaper then you can go back to your doctor and ask for one. Tell the doctor that the cost is an issue for you....

What do you have planned for the day? It's a beautiful day here (for once!)

@Sahara I feel so much better today and I am so happy about that😊. My Phyc asked me some hard questions and I think that has helped. It has made me think about things and make some realisations. I think this is good for me. I have been processing this over the last 24 hours I think this is a good thing. How are you going

Re: I dont know what to do next

I'm going well, @Ant7, except that I have another cold! I am coughing up yellow stuff. It is very unpleasant. Today it has been so sunny and so I sun-baked in our back yard. This really helped me to feel better. I also got some vitamins from the supermarket last night.

It's good when psychologists ask the hard questions... the fact that this didn't put you off is a great sign. I think it means you really are ready to talk things over.

My sister went to have counselling recently because she was under so much stress... but she did not like the psychologist's questions and decided not to go back. I could have guessed that would happen.

Re: I dont know what to do next

@Sahara I just got over a bad cold my self one of the worst I have ever had I think they are going around. Lucky you sunbathing in winter 👍😊 it is freezing here today and it rained all morning could be worse I could have been off lol. That's a shame about your sister I think I went in ready for the hard questions so that helped. It has had me thinking a lot during the last day I don't really have any close friends. I am ok with that but it just makes you think about it when the phyc asks me if I had anyone I could talk to about stuff I realised that I didn't really. Normally I would talk to my wife so I am a bit caught. I think that having you on here has helped me a lot if that makes sense. I always worry that I am being a burden to anyone who tries to help me it is just the way I am. I really do appreciate you and what you have done for me I mean it you really fare an angel 😇
