Re: Learning about Relationship Boundaries

Re: Learning about Relationship Boundaries

I get so tired of being strong and being positive and thinking of a new approach. I feel pull out positivity like a rabbit from a hat but that it can become false. I am now hypersentsitive and ambivalent about whether I should continue to post or withdraw.

I have had low self-talk and concentration poor.

My son has been the most loyal of all my family to me ..it worries me because he is vulnerable too.

Nobody else cares and I put a lot of effort into family events for decades.

I started swearing and calliing myself piece of dirt and other things like I am becoming a teenager.d .. but i dont want to have to be teenage boy all the time ..

I would like to have been useful

I have managed to get some help and am grateful, for what has worked.

Re: Learning about Relationship Boundaries

How are you @Appleblossom ?

I'm thinking about you. Last night, my son asked me WHY I know people who live on the edge and I said that because they don't lie or manipulate and because I feel safer with them. Of course there are other issues as you know.

Maybe this girl is just.......not.......knowledgeable and you need just to be honest with her.

BEcause you are .........gentle .............

sending you love honey

Re: Learning about Relationship Boundaries

Thanks again. @Former-Member I had a physio appt this week and have a Gp appt next week.

My psych sessions have run out but I am hopeful of my new GP doctor. She has said about some of my issues with medicos, when i was unsure and enquiring about my rights .. that it is their job, to deal with pain, or with blood, or with panic ... as the case may be .. my trust in the health system is limited.

I try frugal with my use of public resources, aware that there are a lot of needy bods out there.

I am a bit better than yesterday, thanks @PeppiPatty I know what you mean about out on the edge ...

I keep making plans for life rather than the other .. so tonight I am going to see a poetry performance.

I am finally going out for my own entertainment which is new and lovely though I struggle with guilt over it. Its been put off so long and my kids have had generous entertainment quotas met .. so it is a false guilt..

Thank you ladies for caring .. Go well in your own lives.

I've been thinking about @Former-Member And how it's so important to her children that she looks like she has a hamdle on things that she has more power in her than she knows. . ..her Mum knows......
But you tumbled into my conciousness. Now why is that Apple? You can stand up AnD talk what your needs are?

Re: Learning about Relationship Boundaries

hey @Appleblossom i'm glad you are making plans for living...

I want you to know that you do matter and you do have the right to take up the space that you need to and deserve to. I dont believe you would ever be someone who would 'play the system...' if that makes sense. you are a fair and kind soul. Please use the resources that are available and seek them out... though iknow that with the horrible experiences you've had in the past you're cautious... though what you are doing for yourself in going to a poetry night, keeping up your music, writing on here, may be just what you need too... you know yourself best.

i'm really trying @PeppiPatty to stay on top of things/feelings for the kids - just feel so physically alone right now beinghere helps.. just wish i had someone who could come around tongiht and just be company... have a coffee with and chat

im thinking about you ......

Hope that your going well today my friend....

DEar @Appleblossom

Yes, I'm answering your post about psychobabble......Maybe all Psychotherapists are Psychobabble !! lol

My Psychotherapist certainly keeps my husband in check.....I've been concerned about how many changes that he has had to deal with. He has pretty much lain down on the couch and not moved for a long time.....

Re: Learning about Relationship Boundaries

That is really sad about BB @PeppiPatty

it is a problem with those meds too ... how long has it been since he has been up and about?

@Former-Member still thinking of you ... do you have walking with the pup planned for the weekend ..

We have been pretty low key at home too .. both had colds and flu ... but I have never had 5 days rest to recover from a cold before ... it was just business as usual .. go go go .. seems a miracle .. to get 2 days in bed.

I suggested we go and see a movie tomorrow to the boy ... now I am rich we do go and see the odd movie.

Hi @Appleblossom

How are you going?

We went for a walk this morning - was sun shine when we left, walked for a bout 40 minutes was blowing and just starting to rain when we got back. but it was good for the kids to be out and about running amok.

my lil guy has had an ear infection that just doesnt want to go away. My stress got on top of me yesterday and had a bad migraine, still have a head ache but not too bad now.

Im glad you might get out and see a movie, what will you see? will need a review! i dont get to see anything thts not animated these days hehe.

Re: Learning about Relationship Boundaries

I am ok ... a bit down .. my boy slept and did not get motivated for the movie ... so I said "another day" ... but gave him a little (3 min) talk that I should not enable him to avoid the world and life and just let him be in his room ...

The internet satisfies so many VIRTUAL needs .. he watched all of "game of cards" .. it was going to be our together ... bonding on the couch series .. so now he has chosen Orange the New Black ...which I will enjoy .. but its not about the entertainment for ME .. its about sharing .. being sociable .. once per week is all I ask ...

YEP ... @Former-Member for a long time our movie choices are not about our personal needs ...

Glad you got out and about with the kids ... hope the lil boy had a scarf&beanie ... ear infections can be quite nasty ... my girls used to get them

Re: Learning about Relationship Boundaries

Hey

sorry you're feeling down. and sounds frustrating that he watched those episodes without you despite knowing that it was something you wanted to do together. I hope orange is the new black works out better. i have watched it. Hope you both do get to the movies soon.

I like your idea of working on your friendships and a relationship, you've come such a long way since we first 'met'. That sounds very much like some hope for the future. I'm so glad for you.

Your son is now of an age that its ok for you to not being available to him 100%. It wouldnt be ... respectful of his age or own abilities to look after himself. It's also a good prompt for him to perhaps push himself a little too. As always you're a great mum
