Re: when is it time for hospital

Absolutely it does @outlander. I understand how exceptionally hard it can be to do any of these 'basic' things when you're in the middle of a crash so I am not saying it's easy at all, but I guess it's kind of like a cycle though yeah? Worrying. stress etc impact on your ability to sleep, lack of sleep seems to make worries and stress bigger or harder to manage. I know when I am stressed, I don't feel like eating at all and even the thought of food can make me feel like I will be sick. But not eating can cause me to feel sick too, which means I want to eat less, which means I feel sicker. I know I can't concentrate well when I am tired and have not eaten, which means I can't think as well or make decisions as easily which means I can't work out what to do, which means I have more worrying, which leads to less sleeping and eating.... and it just keeps going like that. Doing any tiny little thing to try to break that cycle can help (I think anyway).

A break or time out to do something good for yourself, could kind of break the cycle. As could reducing your responsibilities and getting some help around the house.

@outlander - I understand how scary and difficult it can be to have those kinds of thoughts. I know how much you are seeking support to manage them and how hard you're trying to work through it.

Apologies if I am speaking out of line here, but I think it's worth mentioning how potentially confronting it may be for people to be tagged into discussions like this one. I know for me that reading this last post has been difficult and I wonder if it may be for others too.

I hope you're able to find a way to better manage and cope with these thoughts soon, especially if you're worried about yourself. If you had those thoughts, particularly if they happened with your sister/s in the car too, I wouldn't think it safe for you to be driving either.

Re: when is it time for hospital

im abit concerned about my thoughts at the moment.
i was doing the horse this arvo not that long ago and my sister really annoyed me being super ungrateful and all i could think about was what damage i could do to myself
i need some sort of help and i dont think this plan of mine is going to work too well
i think i need to put myself first for once and do what i have to do to fix these thoughts
if its not suicide thoughts then its self harm ones and its starting to worry me

Outlander

When I get stressed in the situations like your sister this afternoon (today was taking a slow, difficult, complaining about everything mother out shopping not being able to have time for myself)I describe it as "absolute chaos in my head".,I am suffocating in thoughts that I can't handle.I had to say "I want 5 minutes to look around Myer's"because my mother thinks only of her.i made major changes to my life 2 years ago because of the suffocation and selfishness of my mother with the help of counseling and drugs which made me believe in change. My life got worse and I lost what I did have and enjoy which lead to last year and now still severe but not as bad with severe depression and anxiety.Im in a worse position now than I was when I had counseling in trying to overcome a problem I am now ten times worse off and often like now when I have tears in my eyes with distress want to give up.What I'm saying is your family will run you into the ground if you let them. You will have more respect from them and more for yourself if you learn to put boundaries .I have lost a lot of friends ,family and relative relationships because of the lack of respect and the way they think it's ok to put me down in some way.You need to find a way to release the frustration you feel.

The only suicide prevention I believe is what we are trying to do now, keep ourselves alive and try to live with our problems.

Yep @outlander

It is time for you to get some serious help now - I think you have good reason to get that help -

I would be really relieved if you did
