Re: when is it time for hospital

@outlander it's definitely NOT YOUR FAULT you have a mental illness. Your life is hard because of your family's treatment of you, and because your mental illness tells you that you're not worthy of a better life. It's simply not true. Not at all.

Re: when is it time for hospital

@outlander is it worth it? Sometimes that's a difficult question to answer, but how can we predict what's in store for us? You've only been in therapy a short time, and often complex mental health problems, family dynamics & other issues can take time to wade through and come out the other side. Don't we owe it to ourselves to see if that's a worthwhile life?

I made a very serious attempt on my life when I was 17yo, yet I lived. I got my act together eventually, without therapy at that time, and decided at 24 I wanted a much better life. I started nursing at 25,and I've used that career to help my travel and work overseas and around the country. I've had some incredible opportunities. Yes, life is incredibly difficult right now, but I'm desperately trying to hang on to my life, despite my thoughts telling me otherwise, because I'm curious to know what happens next. And why do we have to have all the answers now? Maybe we don't have to the answers, but we can remain hopeful that in time they will be revealed.

Re: when is it time for hospital

@outlander,I have had this battle for five years ,fell out with the world due to work, family putting shit on me,trauma through life experiences etc.I had it all my life since a teenager, not knowing or trying to put it away. You and @MDT,are great in that you are dealing with it,trying to confront the problem. It is hard, the acceptance,I can't tell you how many times on my walks I have got distressed wondering what the f*** happened to me,and like you,@Hamsolo01,and everyone else have a lot of anger, bitterness, sadness, and frustration in me.I'm not into groups but @Sans 911 has a point with the groups in that it might be support for you, as mental illness does isolate you further from so called friends and it changes you,you see priorities in life that they take for granted eg: I'd do anything to be happy and contented, others I know are too busy making themselves out to be something they aren't,or playing survival of the fittest. The anger I have like @MDT at seeing others happy or having a new car,a husband, kids, home, etc is one of my problems and I shut down to keep myself "safe", which I know at the end of the day doesn't exist. It's f***** hard.Just try and get some rest.💌

Re: when is it time for hospital

I know therapy takes rtime and everything takes step to get there but ive been doing this for a yr and i still end up in the same position as what i was before.
I cant change anything. Ive been desperately trying to. Clinging to hope looking at positives but i just dont seem to be getting anywhere

I want to go out and meet people maybe travel or do something that's ot of the ordinary for me but i cant.
Im stuck here and cant get out.

Ive been determined to make a better life but i cant keep up with this environment. I cant move out its just not an option.
Change things and im in the wrong. Always

I just want to get better. I want friendships and relationships. Healthy relationships not forced. I want to be happy but im.not and i cant pretend i am.
They tell me to speak up but when i do i get into trouble get blamed that im the cause of my mental illness or get yelled at because they dont like my attitude.
What more can i do
