I certainly hope that wasn't a professional service who told you that @outlander, although unfortunately, it does happen. I've been there myself. Don't let it reflect poorly on you, let it be a poor reflection on the person you reached out to.

Don't let this be goodbye @outlander. I'd hate to have you leave while you are feeling so vulnerable and distressed. Helplines aren't very helpful I've found when you are living with a diagnosed mh issue, as they use the 'coping strategies' thing far too often, when in reality all we need sometimes is someone professional to listen without judgement.

In all honesty your tennacity to see things through is what really makes you a great advice giver.
I've noticed in all the posts you've made on my threads you have a very positive attitude towards helping other people. You've mentioned that you want to pursue nursing? I suggest you focus your attention on this and get to a level where you can do it! I firmly believe you can 🙂
These episodes of mental are normal and perhaps it would be worth your while exhibiting some ACT skill. In other words, accept the thoughts for what they are. So for instance, when you feel useless and you feel like you are a failure then it's time to remember that this thought itself is the result of your mental health and not actually a fact. Being surrounded by people around you who disagree with your mental health certainly does not help and I can't speak to that because I don't experience this sort of thing in the house - but only in life with some 'friends'.
My advice to you would be to remember that despite your mental health conditions, you are worth it. Full stop.
Just because we all seem to have life a certain way, does not make us immune to suffering on the inside. People always forget this.
I get told that having depression or social anxiety is something that I just have to grow out of... and I'm tired of it. People sometimes don't even believe me when I tell them because they think I am too tall for it or some garbage idk... it's incredibly frustrating and annoying.
Please remember you are worth it @outlander and you are not a burden to anyone here at all!
I hope what I have said helps in some way

If you want it to stop, is there anything that us as forum members can help you with? We can sit and chat until you feel less vulnerable if you like?

@outlander
what's the one thing that is bothering you the most right now?
sometimes I do this in order to figure out the priorities of what's bugging me and making me depressed..
and there definitely is hope left, maybe you just need to make some small changes here and there to instigate real and lasting change?
you do matter!

Although you may feel these intense thoughts, do not buy into them @outlander. Do not invest your time with them. Allow them to pop into your head, but allow them to go. Allow positive thoughts come into your head and allow them to go. Do not invest in any particular thought while you are distressed like this.
I ask you where is the evidence that you are a failure? I think you've got a lot going for you in reality. You are clever and caring and probably have empathy most people could only dream of. I think you'd make an excellent nurse, as it is obvious to us on here that you are caring. Therefore going into the caring profession seems like an obvious career choice.
However, having said all that, caring is a two way street and you must practice self care also. What is one thing you tonight to practice self care?
