Hope u have a good day day outlander,I suggest you take the sleeping tablets at 6 pm ,and if you don't want to take a full one do what I do with a calmative and take half.
Yes helplines are hopeless, basically when I had to do it last week,I need that connection with someone in crisis.💟

Hello @outlander thinking of you. I finally have some free time if you want to talk with me. Sorry I've been so caught up in my own stuff lately.

Hi @outlander
Whoever you rang last night didn't help and hurried you off - I hate it when that happens
I usually think carefully about why I am ringing when I ring Life Line - I might have a bunch of problems and I might tell them I have a bunch of problems but I try and pick out the most pressing one and deal with that - then I think on the next problem and ring about that one - maybe three calls on different subjects in an evening - but I have found talking about one thing at a time easier
Then at times I have been lucky and get the chance to tell them the whole story - they are there to listen and some of them - many of them - listen well - and for me that works
But I don't ring often - I do not like it if it seems to the person on the other end of the phone thinks whatever I want to talk about is not all that important. I reflect that some people are there to give advice or suggestions - who knows what they are thinking - but being concise when I ring up about what's bothering me has been helpful
And then I was asked what the caller could do - I wanted to talke about my son and he listened - it really worked - he really cared
So try that - but I do hate it when anyone gets brushed off - I am sorry this happened to you

Hi @outlander,
I'm glad you got the BPD diagnosis confirmed. Hopefully that means you might be able to access BPD-specific support in your area (I think you mentioned there was a DBT group???). I know that if I had been able to access DBT when I was diagnosed around your age, my life would have turned out very differently. I would strongly encourage you to take up whatever support is offered to you.

Hi @outlander the diagnosis must have been a shock at some level. Take care of yourself. Hopefully they gave you some advice too. Especially on how to take meds when so anxious as last night. Maybe break them into smaller pieces? Put them in a teaspoon of honey followed by a glass of water? I dunno I just want to help. I'm on new med regime now too as of yesterday. Hoping it will help with the bipolar episode I'm having.

@Owlunar i very very rarely ring helplines. only when i really think i need it, and i have to be really bad- almost back to hospital bad. and that was last night.
i was really worked up with health anxiety, that was very distinct and i could pick it from a mile away. if i could settle that and those thoughts then i couldve managed but i couldnt and it turned out to be a dreadful night.

@Phoenix_Rising
i spoke to the mental health team and they ahve put me on the waiting list. so far its still 4 months long for the group therapy and 6 months for private consultant unless i can find one in my areas somewhere. which i looked i think there was only 1 of them and their books were shut. so i could be waiting a long while to get into the DBT. until then i dont really know.
i had like 10 pages of questionaires to fill out and she was marking them as id finish the page and she connfirmed my gad, depression and added in the health anxiety and the BPD.
the BPD does explain abit about whats going on for me. i know my anxiety is super off the charts but even saying i have a milder form of BPD does explain it too
