sad&stuck

sad&stuck

Major depression & social anxiety have been ruling my life and I feel so stuck. Lack of motivation, emotional overeating, loneliness..(my partner works nights and sleeps during the day, i have no friends & my family are either away or busy and I feel like I don't want to bother them) feelings of being worthless and hopeless, racing thoughts... I'm tired. And sad. No medication is helping and I have a support team around me (psychologist, psychiatrist, gp, mental health support worker) but I can't help but think why bother. Ive been holding on for so long and it doesn't seem to be getting better. I feel like there's only so much distracting I can do. Sorry, you probably don't want to read my depressing s*&t but thanks if you do.

Re: sad&stuck

I had a decent sleep last night so I got up this morning to go on an outing with the activity group. Unfortunately while I was out I started feeling really tired flat and 'off'. That feeling stayed with me all day. I realised I had forgotten to take medication yesterday which possibly played a part in it all. Now I'm home resting in bed listening to my pet bunny run and play around the house and he runs into my room to say hello and runs out again. I would like to go to sleep so I don't have to deal with my bad thoughts. I hate how I can't get any relief unless I'm asleep.

Tomorrow seeing my support worker in the morning and then the 1st electrical stimulation therapy session for the week.

Re: sad&stuck

My brothers had guineas when I was little. Ah pets are good for the soul. I've had bunnies since I was 12. Do you have any pets now @Shaz51

Re: sad&stuck

Had an icky day today. Wrote a letter for my psychologist and gave it to the girl doing my therapy today to give to him. See him on Friday so now just have to try not to freak out too much until then. Easier said then done. I know I should do some things to distract me now-- colouring in, get new music and put on phone, watch netflix but I don't know. I'm just tired and over it all.

Re: sad&stuck

So sorry you have had an icky day today @STORMGRL101

That feeling you are having about the letter and seeing you psychologist on Friday I would guess is a mixture of relief that you have written it and nerves and anxiety about what is in it and how it is going to be taken. That is a natural reaction when confronted with the unknown and having to wait to find out what their reaction is. I find distractions that take any energy to undertake do not work very well when I am tired or feeling really drained. In these instances I turn mostly to the forum for distractions - not always talking, sometimes just 'sitting' in the background is enough.

Thinking of you @STORMGRL101
