The Highlight of Your Day thread

The Highlight of Your Day thread

I thought it might be nice to have a place to share the highlight of your day (even if it's found in a fleeting moment) 🙂

For me today, the highlight of my day was finishing the most annoying round of crochet in a blanket I have been working on for months. This round has taken me so long and I've found it so frustrating that I didn't think I would ever finish the project. Stitch by (incredibly frustrating) stitch it came together. Super excited to get to change colours and start the next round now!

Looking forward to hearing anyone else's highlights 🙂

Re: The Highlight of Your Day thread

Highlight of today here was a moment of pure silliness after dinner with C at our friend's place tonight. At one point, C demanded I tell them about my day in song. So I improvised a silly tune and lyrics that started with me dragging myself from bed and struggling victoriously to get out the door. At this point, our friend took over and added to the song, basically repeating in song form a conversation about our medical problems we'd had earlier in the day. My friend was so hilarious in her delivery of this, I completely cracked up. She lost it too at that point and the too of us just laughed and laughed! Nothing like it.

Double rainbows are so cool @Former-Member. Did you take that photo? I often take pics with my phone when I'm out walking.

Yeah .... they help you to keep swimming @soul ...... 🤗💕

ROFL @Faith-and-Hope. You are correct. I may be "too complex" for a psychiatrist and my brain may be in a superly duperly gigantic muddle, but so long as I have my duck socks on, I will definitely be able to just keep swimming.

I think duck socks should be studied as a new potential treatment for depression!

Hiya @Phoenix_Rising @soul @Former-Member .....

I did doze off for another hour or so, but will probably nap in the middle of the day too, if I can. That might be the highlight of my day .... lol ....

S2 didn't sleep last night, despite taking Melatonin ..... 😔

x6 men at my place 😱
When I got home after the shop today I found the 10m high dead tree out back had toppled onto the the corner of the house, 😱 - most the weight precariously balanced on the rainwater tank. I was worried a wind could bring it down sideways into windows etc. The local tree lopper wasn't answering his phone so I rang the SES. Turns out it was a job they didn't have to do because it hadn't officially broken any infrastructure or posed threat to life (YET), however, they realised it could, so took the chainsaw and ladder to it and 3hrs later it was down. wow!

A branch fell on the rusty rainwater tank roof and it collapsed, tearing the tin holes out a bit - water poured out for ages. And the trunk badly dinted the top of the tin fense as it came down with a bang. Nobody was hurt and the SES guys worked so well together, well, for middle aged+ inexperienced blokes with big hearts, there was avlot of discussion.

I never had so many men here. they glowed like angels with the sun glowing off their bright orange overalls. It was good of them to do it. They had a new gov vehicle they christened, first callout in it, wow!

I have a mountain of cuttings in the neighbours driveway to have carted away. Neighbour good about it all ☺
