The array of problems

The array of problems

Well hi there everybody. I was just looking for people who may be able to help with some tricky stuff im faced with. -here's the life I got... -there's the life I want... and there is a whole lot of technical, physical, mental or emotional issues between the two.

I have struggled with mental problems for a very long time. And I think the gravity of the story and reality of my situation. Induces shock and trauma. And has to sink in over again each day. -But there is apart of me. That weighs things up and desires a better life and to help myself.

Now, if I could...I'd magically employ myself in a good career. And change everything around. But I can't! -so im more or less stuck with very limited options. Reoccurring problems. In the same circumstances. -which gets me down and becomes tiring...

And im tired of feeling like I do.

Im aware of what they say helps and what doesn't. -its just really hard to put into place and follow through with everything.

Re: The array of problems

I sometimes think it's easier to just give up and let my suffer and not try to do any thing about it... I got all these little thoughts going through my mind on a daily basis. And they are good and positive. (Along with negative ones) and at times it feels like the negative is winning. Despite no matter how hard I try.

Think of it this way:

Being unhappy hurts. It takes a lot of effort to hurt.

Creating change costs effort too.

No one likes expending too much effort. So which is the greater amount of effort?

It is my considered opinion that being happy is far easier in the long run so if you prefer to be lazy (as we all tend to) then expend the smaller effort of creating change that leads to happy than the larger effort of constantly being unhappy.

I would say I'm well balanced. Whether the world says that also. Is another thing.

We are probably all leaning toward the negative. And what positive there is. Comes from the hope of winning the battle. But honestly... does anyone really ever win? And who is the battle against?

I told myself just yesterday. That "all mental illness involves other people" and after I said that. I reflected for a moment. As if it were a moment of brilliance that I'd just achieved. But what to do next now I've realized this?

And on the contrary all good mental health involves people... all mental conditions. Involves other people. In some form or another. Whether the condition is good or bad. Or no matter what stage it is at. It always involves other people. So should there really be a need for emphasis of what the Individual can do for themselves through choices?

That is definitely an interesting view, and one I will need to think on. It seems to me to have shades of the "if a tree falls the forest..." thing, If a man has flipped his lid but there is no one there to tell him his lid is flipped, is his lid is flipped at all? Schroedinger would be impressed. I'm not sure what his cat ever thought of the situation. LOL

As social creatures, we do take a lot of our self-view from those around us. I guess tho that we do have to decide what values we place on the two input streams. Obviously, it is a lot easier when the two correlate.

Interesting concept.

Would it be possible that there could be nothing wrong with me if it were not for the others around me who finely crafted their way out of dealing with the end result before judgment and standards took place?

So.. you were perfectly ok except for the fact that everyone made you not ok?

Maybe that is a definition of paranoia which in itself indicates all is not ok.

What if all those things you think other people are doing wrong to you are things you are doing wrong for yourself?

Re: The array of problems

All mental Illnesses stem from a prospective of either a victim or abuser based scenario and the saga continues through out life

Re: The array of problems

Some believe that.

William Glasser said otherwise. He said that bad things happen but the way a person reacts is entirely up to them. Therefore one person can see an event as a life ending tragedy but another can see it as on opportunity. Interestingly the same person can even see it as both at different times.

Of course, that didn't make Glasser overly popular with the Nature crowd as it is a boldly Nurture positon.

Odd because Buddha said essentially the same and the same trick cyclists can be ok with him.
