The array of problems

The array of problems

Well hi there everybody. I was just looking for people who may be able to help with some tricky stuff im faced with. -here's the life I got... -there's the life I want... and there is a whole lot of technical, physical, mental or emotional issues between the two.

I have struggled with mental problems for a very long time. And I think the gravity of the story and reality of my situation. Induces shock and trauma. And has to sink in over again each day. -But there is apart of me. That weighs things up and desires a better life and to help myself.

Now, if I could...I'd magically employ myself in a good career. And change everything around. But I can't! -so im more or less stuck with very limited options. Reoccurring problems. In the same circumstances. -which gets me down and becomes tiring...

And im tired of feeling like I do.

Im aware of what they say helps and what doesn't. -its just really hard to put into place and follow through with everything.

At the @TheVorticon I know what you're saying. -the is a variety of natural teas, herbal remedies and spices/supplements ect that are supposed to help. But the upkeep on all of it is also hard to maintain.

There's plenty of evidence to suggest that vitamin and nutrient deficiencies can cause havoc against general wellbeing. And we don't even know what's going on with us.

It's an area I think could be worked on bye the professionals who are supposed to there to help us. Instead of immediately resorting to pharmaceutical drugs.

And hey @Fancy_Pants not sure what was going on there. I'm no relationship counselor.

If you love something. Set it free. If it comes back it is yours. If it doesn't. It never was.

I been through hell when it comes to relationships.

Re: The array of problems

@Fiz sorry if I came across as rude. I haven't been on this forum thing before. And didn't know what to expect. Or how people would be toward me. And I'll answer your question About issues and getting ahead. I'd say a big one is the grieving process. Cause I've lost or known of people several people passing in the community. And I click into grieving mode. And go through the cycle. Wanting answers or a conclusion. And I sometimes end up blaming myself or holding myself responsible. And thinking that everyone feels the same way. And In turn it creates a nasty cycle of emotions. And thoughts and actions. And it can be triggered off bye being exposed to certain people. Or memories. Or my emotional memory kicks in. Does it sound similar or like something you know about?

I've received a lot of help from various people to overcome this. But it still pops up from time to time. And is really tricky to talk with people about. When I think they also blame me. -at one point it was a vicious cycle that I was stuck in. And couldn't get out of. And it started from the passing of one person and then went to another. Until I was really sick and unwell.

Sorry if it's a bit heavy. But Yea. I'm proud that I can finally see whats happening. And know what's going on when these cycles start off... -it's the most awful feeling.

Thanks @eudemonism Tis alright. I think I offend people all the time.

Tis alright. I think I offend people all the time. I'm about as useful as Sheldon at giving sympathy but I can offer advice which is my way of showing that I care.

A big part of the battle is to recognize what is really happening and to accept this it is happening. Accept also that this is how you feel.

Then you can apply The Rule:

If you don't like it, change it.
If you can't, or don't want to, change it then live with it.

We all tend to want to control what is outside of ourselves. That is part of human nature. Back in the 1700's Adam Smith wrote in his book on morality that the universe is too large and complex for the human mind to control so it should be left to god. Instead we should only focus on what we can control which is of course ourselves; our thoughts and actions.

Easier said than done, esp in our case 😉 However, our weakness in trying to take blame for things we didn't do (or couldn't have controlled anyway) is a flipside of the strength we do have in thinking and caring more deeply than the average person.

We grieve because we fear that we can't cope with that loss and can't have the good things we had with that person or situation again. All things end but all endings are the start of something else. Again easier said than done but if you apply the three points above of

a) accepting that this is happening and you feel the way you do without judgment, after all you have the right to feel the way you do.
b) deciding what you want to change and what you can do about that; sometimes that is simply accepting that a thing can't be changed so your energies are better used elsewhere.
c) use your perceptive mind and feelings to draw a picture for yourself of how you would like to feel and be open for opportunities that represent that.

Kinda philosophical but I hope that helps in some way.

🙂

Re: The array of problems

@Fiz it'll take a bit more then rock and roll to get me moving and feeling good.

I get depressed and lethargic in the afternoons. And struggle to get motivated. If I get the basics done in the morning... I'm usually pretty good in the afternoon times... I kind of go into recluse mode after 12am.

I'll be doing well to sweep oe vacuum the floors. Do a quick clean and tidy up. Get the washing in. Put another load on and hang it out. And then prepare tea.

Re: The array of problems

Hey if you're doing housework you are doing better than me. My apartment could use some vacuuming.

I guess we all have days like that. If it really seems like that kind of day then I don't fight it and try to enjoy the down time (lest I add more layers of stress).

Re: The array of problems

Yea it can sometimes feel like it will never get done though. And I think apart of me just loves order and is maybe ocd.

I love it when everything is clean, tidy and organized in its own special way. But in actual fact it's kind of the opposite and very chaotic.

The work is never done. What do you think @Fiz?

Re: The array of problems

This is what I don't like about housework: no matter how well you do it. It needs to be done again. I leave it till it feels important to me (as opposed to doing it because I feel that other people would tell me I had to). I guess that is perhaps a male view of things, or maybe Aspie. Who cares tho as it is my life and house and I can prioritize as I like.

Liking order doesn't mean OCD at all, just a desire, or liking, for order. I have that. Sure it may mean I straighten the cutlery in front of me at a restaurant and people laugh at me, but I am not straightening theirs - that's obsessive.

Life itself is chaotic. We like to pretend otherwise so we feel safe but really chaos is a great part of how nature manages its own greater sense of order (cyclone anyone?).
