The array of problems

The array of problems

Well hi there everybody. I was just looking for people who may be able to help with some tricky stuff im faced with. -here's the life I got... -there's the life I want... and there is a whole lot of technical, physical, mental or emotional issues between the two.

I have struggled with mental problems for a very long time. And I think the gravity of the story and reality of my situation. Induces shock and trauma. And has to sink in over again each day. -But there is apart of me. That weighs things up and desires a better life and to help myself.

Now, if I could...I'd magically employ myself in a good career. And change everything around. But I can't! -so im more or less stuck with very limited options. Reoccurring problems. In the same circumstances. -which gets me down and becomes tiring...

And im tired of feeling like I do.

Im aware of what they say helps and what doesn't. -its just really hard to put into place and follow through with everything.

Oh that's good @Former-Member

Do you ride the horses? And I was going to ask about diet and nutrition? Because they say a healthy and balanced diet will improve or eliminate some problems.

Salads, vegetables, fruits, lean meats, and all those sorts of things.

I know I personally struggle with it! I know that my diet impacts my mental health. But it's just so hard to look after myself properly.

hi @Former-Member @eudemonism yes i ride not too often now more just on a weekend when its not raining that is

ive been riding since i could walk lol.

yes i think a balanced diet as well as exercise is important not just for MI but also general wellbeing as well.

i find it harder to get it balanced as well as theres 6 of us in the house so have to worry about likes etc..

have you considered doing a meal plan, or getting like liteneasy type of thing as they come pre packed so you dont have to worry about it or seeing a nutritionist to help you develop healthier meals and stuff

@eudemonism, i sire feel better when I up the vegies and protiene in my diet. Winter I live on big pots of soop (crock pot) that I put everything in, including my own stock from chicken carcus), and herbs and spices... Summer I have to work hard at more salads and fruit - less bread. Why don't you start a new discussion about 'healthy eating alone' or search and resurrect an old discussion thread. This is important. For me I have found - pawpaw, lettace, coconut and salmon make me feel better the next day, especially if I have cut back carbs. Also, some say a 45min walk a day is as affevtive as an antidepressant. Don't give up on this, were all in the same boat here 🙂 .

Yea it's hard @Former-Member and hi @Former-Member don't think we've met yet.

As I'm a single man. And haven't been in many relationships. I know all about the bachelor lifestyle. I've only had a few months where a woman was looking after me. Apart from being a child in the family environment.

It's so important to eat healthy. And keep the diet balanced and I appreciate your advice about a meal planner and lite n easy. But it's a bit beyond that. Cooking and my diet has become a chore and hard work... (I do what u can though)

And as for exercise. The two go hand in hand. Even a brisk walk in the morning and afternoon. And a simple salad sandwich for lunch and three veg and meat for dinner with a bowl of cereal for breakfast.

Once my medication side effects are taken into account. Everything a bloody uphill battle. But I won't go into that now.

6 of us sounds like a family setting @Former-Member ? and what do you think about diet and exercise @Former-Member ?

Re: The array of problems

I was just thinking a couple of hours ago that I need some sort of guide for figuring out whether I'm getting enough nutrients/vitamins and whatnot @eudemonism so perfect timing with your discussion. I'm also living alone and find meals to be way too much effort. Most of my food goes store-packet-mouth or store-freezer-oven-mouth. If I make a "salad" it's usually straight from the fridge sans plate haha.

There's a lot out there now (even here on the forums) on 'Gut' Health and how it affects our mood / mental health.

Hi @KyleUli, and welcome to the forum. Where you've placed your post is not really on topic to this discussion and may not get much notice here and/or distract from the discussion already happening here. The best thing to do would be to copy and paste it into a new post that you start yourself. You have already registered on the forum to have a username. So starting a new discussion especially for your topic is no different as far as I know. Kind wishes and hope you find some insight and support here with your post.
