The array of problems

The array of problems

Well hi there everybody. I was just looking for people who may be able to help with some tricky stuff im faced with. -here's the life I got... -there's the life I want... and there is a whole lot of technical, physical, mental or emotional issues between the two.

I have struggled with mental problems for a very long time. And I think the gravity of the story and reality of my situation. Induces shock and trauma. And has to sink in over again each day. -But there is apart of me. That weighs things up and desires a better life and to help myself.

Now, if I could...I'd magically employ myself in a good career. And change everything around. But I can't! -so im more or less stuck with very limited options. Reoccurring problems. In the same circumstances. -which gets me down and becomes tiring...

And im tired of feeling like I do.

Im aware of what they say helps and what doesn't. -its just really hard to put into place and follow through with everything.

Re: The array of problems

Hi @eudemonism Was just reading some of your thread and thinking about all the similar conversations I have had with different people over the years.

No we are not alone, but I guess it does help if we can connect in real time.

Re: The array of problems

I have a sore throat and chest & head cold happening. It should pass, I usually only get one a year.

Glad you could Post with @Fiz.

Re: The array of problems

Yeah @Appleblossom the old head and chest cold don't help with things. Take extra good care of yourself and do what you can to help it pass. I just got over a three week head and chest thing. That time of year I suppose.

What do you do with your life @Appleblossom? Have you lived with mental health issues? And is there any thing you can suggest that you think might help?

Re: The array of problems

Thanks for responding to my cold thing. Mostly I have a good immune system. One of my jokes is that I havent been able to afford to have a cold, so things are looking good now that my system is relaxed enuff to go there.

I first visited MH hospitals when I was 10 and have had many close people struggling with MH issues. I have never been able to get myself admitted, though recently I have had 3 paramedic or ED events. I dont have a thorough diagnosis, though I have been repeatedly assessed, but I think it is a fair call to say I am high functioning on the autism and schizophrenic spectrums.

I have wide ranging interests esp science, music and literature and have just started volunteering in a zoo.

Re Mental health issues. I love @Queenie tag ... Permanently in Wonderland ... we are all mad here. I wish the wider world were as honest.

One thing that keeps me going is kind of the reverse of your profile name ... I am a seeker .. always looking for justice.

Re: The array of problems

Ok that's an Interesting piece of writing. There must be so much more in between all the stuff you've mentioned though? Are you on any psych meds?

Re: The array of problems

Volunteering at a zoo must be good value. I have my own little menagerie. A dog. A cat. And some fish. -colds build the immune system up but they are hard to go through. -and yeah justice is good. (I'm sure we've all experienced both sides of the story in some forms or another) what came first? Crime or the law?

Re: The array of problems

Yes. I have a lot of experience with MH issues. Been on Antidep for 15 years, almost came off them whittled it down to zero, but had a few more "life knocks" and meds were upped in "quality". I am an old Apple so it is weird that anti-psychotics are only being prescribed now.

What is your opinion on meds ... in general .. we are not allowed to get too specific on this site.

@eudemonismwhat kind of dog do you have?

I started at zoo 2 months ago. Its good to get out and about in fresh air and learn more about animals.

Re: The array of problems

Well I'm happy that you have your volunteering role at the zoo. And am glad for you. Because I could see it would be rewarding and quite the experience. -I have a 5-6 month old border collie x kelpie. So he keeps me busy and is great company. He's a great dog.

My opinion on meds? Well, they ain't perfect or ideal bye no means. And I think they think meds will do all the hard work. -but from my experiences they just create a human who has to be a bi product of the side effects. And has to learn to live with them. Whether it be good or bad.

The nature of what psych meds are used to treat is "very complicated". And there should be more effort put into finding alternative treatments. And setting up along term treatment plan where psych meds are not needed. -it becomes a case of you are this. This is what you are. And this is the medicine you need. "There is no other way" sort of attitude. And it's all based around the opinions of people who call themselves professional. And not enough. Effort gets put into finding a better "solution"

But I think about my own personal experience. And things I've thought. Said. Or done. And stepped back and reflected in the complete picture. And I did need help. And something did need to be done. And at this point in time... I am a fully blown product of the "help" and "what was done" too treat my "mental health issues" and "life problems" and it's a bit hard to accept that "this is now my life" And "there's not really any thing I can do about it"
