taking a break

taking a break

Hi Everyone

Ive come to the decision that i may need to take a break from the forums or at least just stick to my safe threads such as this one and my garden thread.

ive read quite a few confronting things on here, it not the people, its the stories of what theyve been though, its set off quite a few things for me and just reminds me of what a tragic world we live in.

i know there is great support on here but i dont think i can handle it at the moment. im at the stage where i think a hospital might be better for me to go to. i know mant of you have been or go to the there still so no matter how embarrassed i am about being young and having to go to get thigns sorted out, i know ive got plenty of butterflies flying around me.

if only i had supports off this forum but i think i need a break. i dont think i can help many people as much as id love to and i feel extremely bad for not being able to help but i guess i just need to limit abit more of what im doing.

as most of you know uve been through a fair bit and still going through it all and alot of things im dealing with on my own.

i dont know what to do anymore, it feel likes i cant trust anyone anymore, ive lost hope for quite alot of things including my mental health gettitng better and even at this point questioning it so much that i dont even know if its real now. i think id rather just hide away.

i havent been able to leave the house today and even said no to a ride on my horse and to me thats alarms bells ringing. so i think i just need to take a break and although everyone on here id the best and the only support i have so, its a probaby a stupid mvoe to make but i thing i just need to refresh myself and force myself to get up and do something and start trying to get my life straightened out abit.

starting with either going to hospital or getting in to see a therapist abit more to help me out abit more.

this isnt goodbye, i may still see you on here on my safe threads but i wont be around as much, while im not here ill be focussing on getting abit more help, working on my garden and my studies.

i hope you all understand

Re: taking a break

@Former-Member Basically, take a step back, watch, listen, learn... but also we all are going to make mistakes, I know I sure do, and I sure will make more.

I was just saying to @CheerBear and a few others the other day, that trying to do things right can be a minefield in here. Step in the wrong place and you can detonate a hidden explosive device you had no way of knowing was there. It's just the way it is because we all have our own personalities, way of feeling thins and all that goes into who we are and our own unique and individual stories.

nobody is going to get it right 100% of the time, if they think they are, then they are deluding themselves. I bet even the mods get it wrong sometimes too.

You've got it ...,, ❣

Don't try to work everything out at once. Just stick to the plan and take it one step at a time.

Re: taking a break

FINAL PLAN-

1. take a step back- reduce the amount of time I spend on here. No more forums after 11pm at the latest. Spend one hour in the morning before the day starts. No logging back on until chores are done.
Ill leave that like this as sometimes I have a full day and sometimes its quite chilled so I dont really want to give specific times for during the day

2. if others are offering advice then take a step back unless asked for opinion as too mnay helpers can be overwheming. With this is if I comment and somebody else comments things that are more worthwhile take a step back and done give any more suggestions and just keep the msgs very simple. Only jump back in if that person asking for advice tags me asking for help.

3. stick to a few threads- im only sticking to the threads that im already engaged in rather than going onto new threads for now- though I should be trying to support the people that are supporting me so thats where I get stuck on that.
Before asking for help- try some of the suggestions on my coping strategies thread

4. learn to read threads and comments more thoroughly. If I dont understand the comment then ask or leave it until in a better headspace or have a better understanding of what the person is trying to say.

5. if I cant offer advice then maybe dont comment on the thread and sometimes simple is best.

6. give people more space- people such as zoe who are struggling and I cant offer advice or support then just leave it. Dont keep commenting on the thread if they arent reposnding to me- ill take that as a hint that they dont want me involved

7. less tagging people- as in only tag them if its specific to them in the conversation. And dont tag people in anything so no one is obliged to jump in and help- that is entireley up to them

8. keep one theme to each thread

9.If I’m offering support, I don’t ask for support in the same post or thread. I will start a new one or post elsewhere if I’m in need of support’

IF ANYONE NOTICES IM GOING OFF THE SCALE OR NOT FOLLOWING THIS- PLEASE REMIND ME. this is quite difficult me for but its somethign that i need and want to do to better myself and other members

ive been in contact with @NikNik who has helped me work through all this
