Something’s not right

taking a break

taking a break

Hi Everyone

Ive come to the decision that i may need to take a break from the forums or at least just stick to my safe threads such as this one and my garden thread.

ive read quite a few confronting things on here, it not the people, its the stories of what theyve been though, its set off quite a few things for me and just reminds me of what a tragic world we live in.

i know there is great support on here but i dont think i can handle it at the moment. im at the stage where i think a hospital might be better for me to go to. i know mant of you have been or go to the there still so no matter how embarrassed i am about being young and having to go to get thigns sorted out, i know ive got plenty of butterflies flying around me.

if only i had supports off this forum but i think i need a break. i dont think i can help many people as much as id love to and i feel extremely bad for not being able to help but i guess i just need to limit abit more of what im doing.

as most of you know uve been through a fair bit and still going through it all and alot of things im dealing with on my own.

i dont know what to do anymore, it feel likes i cant trust anyone anymore, ive lost hope for quite alot of things including my mental health gettitng better and even at this point questioning it so much that i dont even know if its real now. i think id rather just hide away.

i havent been able to leave the house today and even said no to a ride on my horse and to me thats alarms bells ringing. so i think i just need to take a break and although everyone on here id the best and the only support i have so, its a probaby a stupid mvoe to make but i thing i just need to refresh myself and force myself to get up and do something and start trying to get my life straightened out abit.

starting with either going to hospital or getting in to see a therapist abit more to help me out abit more.

this isnt goodbye, i may still see you on here on my safe threads but i wont be around as much, while im not here ill be focussing on getting abit more help, working on my garden and my studies.

i hope you all understand

Re: taking a break

@Former-Member That is a wise choice. You need to do what is right for you and you need to make progress. You are right about your horse ride, that is an alarm bell. I am so proud of you for recognising that.

Along with the butterlies... The GardenTooky fairy is very much with you too, whispering in your ear.. "you can do this". And the pesky ant..... on the other shoulder, reminding you of "the stance" when you doubt yourself!

You are a wonderful person and you need to look out for you, that's priority number one. For you to get better!

❤️ So proud of you for recognising your personal needs to grow from this ❤️.

Tooky.

Re: taking a break

Hi @Former-Member,

I really applaud you for knowing when to take a break, or at least to pull back to safe threads. I took a long break from the forum for several months until just recently, after being on the forum intensely for about a year. It was so valuable to getting a better perspective in myself about priorities. Horse riding should always take priority over the forum! So just another voice of support in your decision. Wishing you the very best!

Re: taking a break

Hi @Former-Member - I agree with the others - that knowing what is helpful and what is not for you is very wise. To be able to recognise and then put into practice the things which work for you, and to know when alarm bells are ringing, shows how insightful you are and how much you have got this (even if it if feels like things are out of your control).

I also wanted to say that I completely understand how being on here can be difficult sometimes. Everywhere here there are stories of struggle and pain and it's super important to be able to recognise and acknowledge the extent of the impact MI, trauma, life... etc. has on people. The flip side of this is that between all the hurt and struggle, are stories of people overcoming adversity and growing because of what they've been through. There's kindness, support and respect by the bucketload here. Scattered all throughout the forum, I can see people laughing and finding something that connects them with others, even while life is tough (sometimes when life is really, really tough).

As humans we have the ability to experience great suffering (and inflict it on others), but we also have an incredible ability to withstand and overcome it. There's hope here scared01 and even if it's hard for you to feel that at the moment (which I completely totally respect and understand), i have hope for you.

Whether you decide to hang around, scale down your time here, or leave completely, I'm also another one who supports and understands your decision too.

Take care of you!

Re: taking a break

Dear beautiful @Former-Member

I just want to say 'thank you' for being around for me the other day/night. I hope my issues haven't caused you anymore pain/trauma.

You have been such a great help and support to me and many others on the forum.

I totally agree and understand with you that sometimes we do need to have a break and put in a bit of self care. I know that i take in a lot of what others say on here and perhaps that's where i go downhill.

Pls take care, be gentle with yourself. Get back on your horse and go for a long ride. Get in touch with life, the little things that make you happy.

I will miss our chats on here, but I know that you are in my thoughts and wish you every happiness. Hope to see you around here when you can.

Love to see my coloured fish one day, take care lovely xxxooo
