Re: Hello

hi @Dimity hope you're doing okay. The changes here have made me feel worthless at times, but I am well supported in my community. I work on my therapy and with my psychologist to recover.

I am glad you are doing ok.

The recovery club is a phone based one, in line with sane's digital approach, I have not used it or known anyone who has.

I am sure that is a niche thing to handle the digital side of mental health, with more ppl being online. But there are many ppl who really need more f2f or different styles of interactions. I think many of us would feel the same as u.

I use Lifeline, facebook groups, and havent really found anythign to replace the sane helplines. Lifeline has been good for me lately. I have a case manager and a psychologist and thats also good. In terms of peer support, I was told by LIfeline that they work closely with Safe Havens, which unfortunately they dont have in VIC. I hope you feel supported and the changes aren't hurting you too much. I remember how hard it was for me to find peer support, and the loss of it being very rough too. I thought on the NDIS i'd be able toa ccess peer support, but I haven't.

Re: Hello

Hi @EternalFlower I'd been wondering how you were going. I'm glad you're finding therapy and your psychologist helpful but I guess Lifeline volunteers don't have as much experience or expertise in mh as the old SANE Helpline.

Interesting you say recovery club is phonebased - I had the impression it centres on Zoom groups and a handful of 1:1 sessions.

Have you tried MHFA peer support groups or GROW? I haven't, being challenged by transport as well as IT, but have considered them.

How are you going with personal support under NDIS? I remember you had trouble finding anyone suitable. I'd like to have someone but can't face the agency recruitment process (and I'm unfunded so it would be limited).

Hiya @Dimity how’s your day?

I really love the pic your shared of the mandarin tree! Hope pretty, I wouldn’t have thought it was a mandarin tree! Does this mean mandarin season or have they already been? Sorry I don’t know much about fruit and trees and seasons but I feel I should haha whoops.

sorry about the exercises plan, did you get to do any of yours? I should do some while I am typing! Would you be keen?

I also randomly saw the nautilus shell you posted 🥰, I love how your mind works.

do you like spiders? I saw one today which has been there for awhile and I was stoked to see them again, I don’t love spiders but from a distance they are ok and as long as they aren’t near my place 🤣. I’ll share if you don’t mind them but I know some people can’t stand them so will wait to hear from you first 😊

attached a pic of my walk this evening just of a tree and a bit of the moon 🌻

Re: Hello

Hi @Chasingsunsets Nectarine not mandarin! So flowers like a peach tree not citrus.

No I didn't do my exercises you've caught me out haha. I could try now.

I don't mind most spiders and quite like some. I try to take huntsmen outside.

We've had trees and branches down around Melb today. Dad used to talk of equinoctial gales even though BOM told me once it isn't a thing.

How are you today?

Re: Hello

@Dimity it is quite challenging to find a good ndis worker.

Something happened with one last week that was so triggering i'm now feeling anxious that i let her into my home at all.

She was very unwell, and told me a graphic DV story which involved her nearly not surviving, and also said that she sort of had to work coz otherwise the thoughts would lead her to a psychiatric hospital.

This was the second time I'd met her. I fired her, politely, just said it wont work out, all the best, and she bombarded me with texts accusing me of trying to scam her because she hadn't yet received her payment from our session. It ws only a few days later, the payment takes time for the NDIS to process it.

I dont think i've been doing too well since :(

I haven't used Grow, i had used the Sane helpline back in the day, Lifeline, and once or twice Blueknot.

I had the same access issue as you when I looked into Grow.

I go to Spectrum for therapy and then have a case manager I see every 2 weeks.

Re: Hello

@dimity i think recovery club is 6 or somrthing sessions and u can use it with in a certain time, whenever you want, like you can have 3 in one week then none for months.

I have noted that there is a strong push to the recovery club as the new mode of sane delivery. I need face to face help, I think, I have found forums and online chats really helpful when there's a good conenction between people but lately it feels scary to write, i get scared who's reading as there's so many ppl i dont know.

I feel like i can feel a moderator reading every word and laughing at me.

I guess I could stay here and just post about good things, but I dont know if I can find the energy for that now.

Re: Hello

Oh my apologies re tree @Dimity 🤣. I love nectarines! So now I have my fruit correct lol is it the start of the season or just finished?

yeah alright I’ll do some of my exercises better get the band out of the car the physio gave me for the exercise they added for me lol (2/3) weeks ago whoops lol. Thanks for the motivation 🤩also not sure how much of that previous post you can see didn’t think you could see any of it but wanted to just include that we are on the same page with the changes here. They mention it’s being escalated so not sure what that means or if I’m in for some punishment. If I am not around, it will why but it’s okay. Don’t worry it will be fine. Here’s the orb that just loves her spot she’s found. I feel judgmental about her web 🤣 but also she just looks so happy there and that’s the main thing hehe. I wonder why she likes that spot. At first when I saw her weeks ago I thought she was dead and copped a fire going through but then thought she wouldn’t still be in her web if she was dead lol. It was good to see her again anyway hehe

Re: Hello

Hello @EternalFlower, lovely to see you around, just saw your post to @Dimity and just wanted to say hi too 😊. I glad to read you are well supported in your community, it’s nice to hear. Recovery club sounds interesting, have you done it since the new roll out? I wonder about if vic has an equivalent to safe havens, haven’t got access to it either. Peer support is actually been something new since finding sane and I found it incredibly helpful for the small interactions I did have sometimes. Interesting though but where I live not many resources at all, ah well it’s all good. How was your day?
