Locked out/in

Hi everyone @Appleblossom @Zoe7 @Shaz51 @TAB @Bow @Dimity 🙂

Haven't been here a while, welcome to anyone to comment and say hi!

How are you?

Im struggling a bit with the NDIS at the moment. My funding was cut a great deal. I had decided to go on a carer respite while i still had funding, tongiht, but it went very badly 😞 i am now back at home. I hope everyone is doing okay x

Re: Locked out/in

@Dimity thanks for ur comment, well done on making it to excercise and to keeping trying. i know you're having a hard time, how have things been after the family session?

Have you been okay in the weather?

Hey @PeppyPatti @Appleblossom @TAB @Bow @Captain24 @Flutterbug9 @DogMan79 @MatchaToad @Jynx

I went to my physio today, he's amazing. The trauma program didn't call today, but I think tomorrow, and they will give me a time. I am meant to note down some goals and hopes which i have done but keep reivising it, to begin working with them.

I cracked it at my NDIS support coordaintor and have ceased using any services for quite some time there.... They told me they would call me on firday at 1130am, i waited an hour, then messaged and said i'm sorry not free anymore, there was no apology, it just screams red flag to me.

Take care and stay warm

Hi @EternalFlower

I just woke up and have no idea what this thread is about

I'm not up to reading over ten pages just now, but I'll endeavour to later after about a squillion coffees ❤️

Re: Locked out/in

I hope the trauma team got back to you with a time @EternalFlower . Yes a good physio makes a difference. I have to get back to my prescribed exercises, my mornings have been disrupted lately by sleeping in and depression.

I can understand your feeling let down by your NDIS people but maybe you should try not to punish yourself by doing without services you actually need... like me not following up with my gp.

I haven't had any family "sessions" just abusive text messages at times from a family member. I don't want to block them and have been trying to navigate a very complicated situation with them, without any mh support for it (people say to walk away). I've been ill with the anxiety and stress.

Are you managing to get out and connect with friends much? That's a gap I need to work on.

Re: Locked out/in

@Dimity i am often alone, bt i do social thigs by myself if that makes sense, go to libraries, cafes and shows and even movies. I did see a friend today, i have been nauseous for 3 weeks and dizzy and don't know the cause, i went to the dr finally, and couldn't drive. She picked me up and took me home. That was very kind.
But I don't regularly see ppl too much.

The trauma program has booked me in for a session in a week. My insomnia has been shocking but trying day to day to improve it slowly. I just can't sleep at all.

i understand in my way re the family situationn - i am no contact with my family. Whenever i speak to them i get upset for like a week hence i had to step back. I'm incredibly sorry you got those abusive text messages, and wander how you're doing today?

Re: Locked out/in

That was kind of your friend @EternalFlower . Glad you saw your gp. Could your illness coincide with a change of meds?

Glad you're active, I rarely see people or go out.

I had a bad day, copped BS from an allied health professional I hadn't seen before but I've had problems with another at the practice. I can't go elsewhere unless/until I get new referrals.

I'm concerned for you that you're unwell and don't currently have NDIS support worker's. But hopefully some of your anxiety will lift now you can look forward to therapy.

Re: Locked out/in

@EternalFlower Thanks for the tag. Good to hear from you. I am just not getting on the forum as much at the moment, so SORRY, there is a lag in my replies.

Like @Dimity I value the wisdom of functional medicine and my current physio is great. Doing my exercises has given me purpose as well as improving my pain and fitness levels.

Hearing you about support co-ordinator. Somehow I cant find my new one in my emails. We have not met, and the company keeps changing both its structure and its personnell. Hmmm. My old tax worker part smells something off, with all the rebranding. Hmmm. The search functions on my computer are also degenerating, so I can find the last email from them. We were supposed to set up a meet and greet. Guess I will go into the contact on their website.

Our health is such a delicate interaction of many variables. We can only do our best, do a little research, and keep trying. I am pretty vulnerable at the moment. We are all walking each other forward, step by step...

Re: Locked out/in

@Appleblossom fully understand

Thank u urself and @Dimity are very caring and helpful ppl

Im sure (and ppl have told me) im the problem coz i have high standards re ndis workers but i just cant find anyone good.

I loved my worker jasmin and we are friends but she moved interstate and since then i keep givng a go only for it to go pear shaped.

Re: Locked out/in

@EternalFlower I had a great support worker for maybe 6 months about 3 years ago. She was my first and I've had trouble finding someone good since.

The platforms I've used let you write up your own ad to filter applicants. I wonder if you could summarise what made Jasmin so good so at least there's a benchmark for applicants to respond to. Ì found with one ad only about 4 people out of everyone who applied, actually addressed my ad.

Hope you're not as dizzy and nauseous today.

Any luck looking for kittens?

Re: Locked out/in

@Dimity hey there, the nauseua is very bad today 😞 thank u for reminding me. Though it doesn't do much, i'll take my nauseau tablet. It settles for a short time when I do.

You are so caring to everyone here, thank u for doing that

my gp called to check on me and i missed the call (by one second) so i'll speak to him on monday, he said in his vm he's been swamped but i'd be so grateful to get some input cause this nausea is not leaving.

When i went to the clinic I didn't see him, i saw a diff dr just to see someone. She was lol terrible.

Ice cold!

I think i would like to start with the kitten search after my meeting with the trauma program. It is so overwhelming. There are a million kittens. Do you think it would be better to go in person like @Flutterbug9 did to find their cats, spending some time with them? Online I scroll through kittens and they are all amazing, I get total overwhelm.

In good news, after weeks of insomnia and weird naps, my case manager suggested on Friday that I use soething natural until I speak to my GP. This particular thing works really well for me, and I'd forgotten about it. It has really fixed my sleep. It helps me not only sleep at night but also to wake up regularly. It only works short term, but I think it helped me break the cycle. So I'm happier with that 🙂

How is your weekend going?

I def compare workers to Jasmin, and also with her I did use a quite clear ad. I always say "confident driver" (after having a few ppl who were very anxious drivers) and also I asked Jasmin some direct questions and she didn't get flustered when I messaged her on the app where I found her. I find siilar to you, only a few ppl read the ads, and also answer in a professional way. Some are very overly familiar, talk about how they're very popular socially and all their friends talk to them about their problems.

I tell myself this isn't appropriate for a job. May be true, but I'm not goig to be there friend. Also Jas had a professional and happy photo in smrt casual clothing. Some of them have very strange pictures, unless I'd seen it myself using these apps, I'd not believe how much ppl act as if its not a job and are very casual.

Also anyone that talks about Jesus is a no. All these things have happened to me unfortantely. Some have tried to prostelyse, some have not been able to drive safely or their car isn't safe, and some have sat in silence as we spend time together.

So I write I want a chatty and outgoig person.
