Re: Locked out/in

I've been locked out many times @EternalFlower . Sometimes neighbours had to call for a locksmith for me. It's scary.

It's unbelievable that support worker tried to screw you over.

I've just had had my fortnightly home help and feel very judged and stigmatised for having it. I've made the mistake of sometimes discussing current affairs and politics and I think she has very conservative views on social welfare. A while back I had to ask the provider to stop sending me someone who always said I should be doing it all myself.

Re: Locked out/in

@Dimity that must be uncomfortable hearing some views or lack of empathy for vulnerable people - doesn't sound like she's in the right line of work

I've given up on support workers after the last attempt 😞

I am very excited as I slept through the whole night, which means i'm sort of back in schedule. After my appointment yesterday with the mental health team I got a bit depressed and just stayed in bed all day (it is also so cold and gloomy here) so i thought i wouldn't be able to sleep at anight, bt I was able to sleep for 6 hours and wake up at 6am

It has been a bit of a week!!!!

Sorry re being locked out as well 😞 my neighbour wants me to give her a spare key and i haven't yet, but I need to. I had just got back from the hospital and had separated the keys as i wasn't driving when in hospital, and when i got back i left the house with just the car keya nd couldn't get back in.

Re: Locked out/in

@EternalFlower being fresh out of hospital then the keys and the greedy support worker is a lot all at once. Hope you can face finding someone else if you need them - it's quite a process. I was let down by my last person too. I'm trying to sort a long-standing housing/family issue and need help with it but will put it off as long as possible as I can't face the hiring process at present.

Hope you had a better day. And that nothing happened at yesterday's meeting to upset you.

Re: Locked out/in

@Dimity housing can be so hard, sending strength. Having the wrong ppl involved can be very rough, and moreso when vulnerable. I think its good to take breaks, but thats what i found myself, almost chucking the ndis altogether!

the meeting did upset me, it went round and round in circles, with them not offering me treatment yet as i'm not ready, and me getting upset and saying we can't just meet every 2 weeks to "check in" without me being offered treatment. They think I was traumatised previously by therapy with them so are unsure if its a good step forward to start immediately. I am so tired and unwell, if somone deosn't offer me therapy soon I feel very desperate. I am safe. I have not been given a new time with them, but the space is still there to keep discussing next steps and if I can do treatment. I wish they would give me another time. I am so tired.

Re: Locked out/in

On the plus side @EternalFlower seeing you every two weeks is definitely looking out for you even if they think you need to stabilise more before moving into therapy.

I started EMDR therapy about 3 weeks ago. I'd expected things might get worse before they started getting better, having tried EMDR before.

In response to: Re: Locked out/in

Re: Locked out/in

@Dimity good to give EMDR a second chance, sometimes things kick off with a different person, practitioner, time?

I never tried it before, the clinical director of the program I'm doing recommended it if done with someone skilled but I never went there.

I had a car issue before and had to get Roadside Assist but it was good because they said I had to drive for half an hour after restarting, I went into the city, ended up at kmart and coles and bought a few bits and bobs.

Yes, you're right about the trauma program, I think they are going to get back to me on Tuesday. They haevn't been avoidant. I'm just impatient. I think last week was telehealth just to keep momentum, coz they couldn't find space for all the people to be free for in person. I hope they help me.

@Dimity @Appleblossom @TAB @PeppyPatti @Bow @Shaz51 just reaching out here as the long weekend was very hard for me.
Really regressing atm 😞

I just wanted to check in and speak to the community, but no pressure, I have lots of support networks. Sending love

Re: Locked out/in

Hi @EternalFlower

I apologise I did not know you are diagnosed. I have always thought you just very clever and popping in and out over the years.

tonight I’m alone, my husband and our dog peanut 🥜 are visiting family …..

how is your night tonight ? Have you a cuppa tea ?

Re: Locked out/in

Sorry to hear that @EternalFlower .

I'm depleted atm by family and stuck for words but I hope people drop by for you.

Hopefully you'll hear from your team about therapy tomorrow.

Re: Locked out/in

@PeppyPattithats a true observation - i do pop in and out and thank you for the compliment on being clever 🙂

I have diagnosis of cptsd, but it got pretty bad in January and I was with the CATT (crises hospital) team. Since then I was getting so much better, and they linekd me in to get therapy. Its been delayed 3 times and i'm struggling with it - feel like i'm regrssing. How are you doing? thanks x
