Hey @Bow @DogMan79 @Captain24 @Flutterbug9 @Dimity @NightFury @Shaz51
I've been reading through everyone's comments, and I wanted to be completely transparent with you all: I genuinely feel the same way. As a Peer Guide, I haven't been given any more information than you all have. I don't really know why things have shifted or why the communication has gone quiet, and it's just as confusing for me to navigate as a volunteer. I have noticed the same gap in support and the absence of peer workers that you're describing.
I try my best to be online every day (I do not have a set schedule), balancing my own responsibilities as a carer and managing my own mental health and disabilities. I share that only to let you all know that I am right here in the thick of it with you.
To those of you who are feeling like you "aren't worth it" or "don't matter" - please hear me. You are all the reason I keep logging on each day, even when I'm struggling. Even when the system feels broken or silent, the people in this community are real, and your safety and your voices matter a lot to me.
Having online forum spaces like these are so important! And it makes me incredibly sad, angry, and honestly frightened about the way these forums are headed. I used to be an Online Community Builder for another online forum, and in June 2025, the online forum there was completely ripped out from under us because of the higher-ups. Which then led me to join here as a Peer Guide because I genuinely love helping and supporting others like you all.
I might not have administrative answers, but I am here to listen and sit with you in this frustration and pain.
(I don't know if I will get into trouble for what I have said, but I truly believe in the importance of transparency.)
