Something’s not right

Have we been forgotten about?

Have we been forgotten about?

It feels that way. No one (psw) is around anymore. Not much from moderators.

what use to be such a lively, welcoming and supportive safe space, is…. I don’t even know what words to use. It even seems that people don’t have to be recovery focused anymore.

what has happened????

Re: Have we been forgotten about?

Oh yep @Captain24 stuff goes by without anyone saying anything but if they do pick it up they will ban you

it sucks and is what makes this place feel unsafe now for me

Re: Have we been forgotten about?

@Dimity That’s really interesting to read that rachceo doesn’t interact on the forums anymore. I actually think that speaks hugely. Like really big about the value and worth of the forums now. I absolutely have no doubt it will be goodbye at some point soon. Sadly.
wow. I didn’t know that. Wow.

Re: Have we been forgotten about?

@Bow prior to me being banned, Sane tried to support me by offering me a one-on-one person who I could speak to, email if I needed help navigating the forums.

This person didn't reply much, but it was an interesting gesture on their part.

Regarding the CEO, i do not understand their role, but I guess things would go by them. Overall, my voice has never been heard. However, I am grateful I was unbanned, which at least verified my trauma somewhat.

Re: Have we been forgotten about?

I didn’t realise I hadn’t seen her about. @Dimity. But now I do. Doesn’t really say much for the care of the forums.

They live the banning emails @Bow but it’s just generic and they don’t actually care about what is actually going on. No more meaningful emails of care.

Re: Have we been forgotten about?

I think that’s what makes it sting even more @Captain24 when they send those emails and there is no care. It’s so cold.

Re: Have we been forgotten about?

@Bow I’m finding myself floating on the forums and not posting much because I no longer feel like I’m getting as much out of the forums. I’ve given up at this point. Community Guidelines can sometimes be a bit vague and there is so much room for interpretation and everyone interprets it differently. It definitely doesn’t feel as safe anymore

@creative_writer @Bow @Captain24 @EternalFlower

main reason I don’t logon anymore is due to feeling unsafe and unsupported from most moderators plus feedback/complaints team.

Things that you all have shared today go straight to same or very similar issues I’ve had. Issues that have led me to way I’m feeling.

At one stage I was told by feedback team that ‘best for me to leave the forums and seek professional help’. I was querying impact of specific wording.

on numerous occasions I’ve sent query trying to discuss interpretation of one or more of Community Guidelines. Every attempt was a waste of my time.

not long ago, after having discussion with a PSW about different interpretations of the Guidelines and the negative impact it has on forum members, I lodged feedback. Part of reply I got back mentioned that clear explanation is always provided with all decisions. BS.

I sent reply providing details of an exact situation that happened, attached screenshots showing source of my info etc. reply I received contained info that, I have info that shows their words, are not correct.

I can understand moderators suggesting to contact feedback/complaints team. Useless sending feedback to a team where this is the source of issues.

thanks for that address @DogMan79

Re: Have we been forgotten about?

@Flutterbug9 depending on your state there would be a space to escalate that to, eg the HCC, let me know if you need any help as i have done so in the past.

I am confused by the wording of seeking professional help, since sane's website sates the forums enabled you to"

Connect with people who understand what you are going through, seek advice and surround yourself with support.

Attend weekly and monthly community events.

We’re free, anonymous, and professionally moderated 24/7" - i don't think there should be such a thing as being " - hence this is a source of a "professionally moderated" space. I am sorry you don't feel safe. Do you feel the forums helps you still? The principles of PSW is to walk alonside, but even in this thread we walk alongside each other.

Re: Have we been forgotten about?

@Flutterbug9 this is from sane's main page -

our values -

we do what is right, however difficult it might be,

we are accountable for the decisions we make.

We take good care of our physical and mental health and seek help when we need it.

@Bow @Flutterbug9 @creative_writer @Captain24 @Dimity @MatchaToad

reading alogn and thought i would share my lived experience. In case it helps anyone, i started having issues in the forum in 2024.

This led me to feel very uncomfortable. As time went on , I escalated it about four times.

I thought the appropriate channels to report it to was MHWC, as Sane is not a private entity, but after reporting to MHWC was advised that the HCC in Vic is the appropriate channel.

I was offered an apology by Sane, albeit 1 year later and after escalating many times. My response was better once involving the HCC, so it suggests that perhaps, if one is not satisfied with Sane's response, this is the appropriate pathway. I am feeling a bit traumatised in going back over all this, so if its okay I will come back to this thread maybe later on, when I can. I have continued to place feedback with sane, but am not sure I have strength to do so anymore.

My treating team was not helping me too much, and I suppose at the time I needed to vent about this, and find an appropriate team, but unfortnately I was given quite a bit of direct advice which didn't support me. I am now working on my goals, which is to be able to express my distress, and set boundaries further. However I think also it is fair to say if someone is in a hyper vulnerable place, perhaps Sane may be a place they can step back from, and return to when a bit stronger, as was suggested to Flutterbug. Curious to hear people's thoughts, and what has helped them navigate this confusing time.
