Welcome and getting started

Social anxiety and panic attacks

Social anxiety and panic attacks

Hi everyone,

I.am so grateful.to have found this group/forum, I am.struggling with feeling very alone and currently in a very dark place mentally.

I have been out of work the last few months so unfortunately this has given me more time to overthink, analyse, magnify and read into everything more

often than usual.

I have convinced myself that I am unwanted, not loved, hated, I feel like everyone is talking about me behind my back, I feel paranoid, highly.

misunderstood, judged, unwelcome and

my depression is at an all time high.

I just want to.share this with like minded people and not feel so incredibly low and alone all of the time.I have so much trouble sleeping, concentrating, focusing, being present, I am overly.emotional and sensitive all the time and I am constantly thinking about who I can blame for me being this way, I look back on my childhood and I have many people i could blame, even people I love and care about deeply. I am married , I have been with my husband almost 20 years and he is like a human calming force for me, he may not understand me completely but he grounds me, calms me and makes me feel loved, wanted, accepted, valuable, heard and seen.

Unfortunately where i live iis isolated, very far from family and friends, therefore I lost contact with close friends and only have contact through social media and phone calls. I honestly feel like I dont know who I am anymore, I look into the mirror and see a very sad, lonely misunderstood stranger. I do have a psychologist for therapy but unfortunately it does not feel like its helping and I did give it a chance for over two years, I cannot afford anyone else so that sadly is not an option at this point.

I would love to connect with others and even try helping others too.

A little background on me is that I am highly spiritual (not religious) so I have strong faith and belief in life after death, reincarnation, angels, ghosts, karma interacting with souls that are departed etc I respect all religions and would never force my belief system onto anyone.

I am an early childhood educator. I find that children, these little humans are rhe most authentic souls walking this Earth and they are filled with integrity, I know they do lie but never with any malicious intent. I am currently not working, I miss ths children with all my heart. Unfortunately since Covid its never been the same, im sure many here can relateI

I love music amd feel.it on a cellular level, right through to my core, it is like therapy for me. I am a huge movie buff, I especially love true crime shows and trying to solve the problems and guess who done it. I am also into psychological thrillers.

I have a close knit fanily and in-laws.

I am.highly intuitive, most people think im the real deal psychic, mostly because i have predicted countless future events and been very accurate in reading a person, I was told I should do psychic readings as a job but I dont want to.take money from people amd I would be too scared to make a mistake and ruin lives, I would prefer to keep it as a gift, although it can feel like a curse knowing horrible things about people's loved ones and not being able to give this information to people, my gut always tells me when I should intervene and when I shouldn't, I believe in fate very much and some things ate meant to be, even the most cruel.and unjust.

I love sleeping and I love eating 😋. I am very good at diffusing conflict. I have been called a vault for peoples secrets, anything anyone has confided in me will be taken to my grave.

I am extremely protective, loyal, gentle soul, compassionate, an empath and I can read people and sense who they truly are, I never call someone out in front of other's but I do warn anyone I care about to be careful of this individual.

The beach is my solace, I feel that I thrive mostly around any body of water, I find the ocean to be magical, there is no other place I would prefer to live out the rest of my days. I have chronic pain but I try not to let it rule my life, not easy sadly.

Ok enough avout me, if anyone has any questions I am an open book. I look forward to.forming connections, I am highly introverted, guarded, cautious, paranoid, protective, extremely private and the only reason I mention this is because I want be answering any personal questions that can disclose any of my private information. It is a pleasure joining this group amd I.truly look forward to having discussions with you all. Thank you for reading, please take care and be safe always. 🙏

Re: Social anxiety and panic attacks

@AlwaysMyself Yes it has been a real break down and rebuild bottom up in both of our lives. However what is good always comes back and we had a lot of good life together nothing lost there but what was not good.

Fear Sowing Confusion

Fear holds us fast in scorching steel,
While vicious thoughts breed black confusion;
It sows among us dread and dread,
And reaps our hearts in bruised delusion.

Our doubts arise like flooding seas,
Our hopes go crackling in the fire;
Each daily strength falls down in ash,
And shelters fail beneath its ire.

A loveless force drives hard and cold,
While cruel foes make spoil of living;
They trample through our broken gates,
And leave our safest places burning.

We are a ruin in our house,
A hunted people wrapped in shadow;
Terrors cast their monstrous shapes,
While shame lays bare the wounds below.

Mad voices loot what good remains,
Their flaming lies consume the light;
They roast our peace and feed on panic,
And feast upon our lives by night.

Sister fears brother, friend fears friend,
The dark resounds with inward war;
We are become a fractured household,
A city split by flames at war.

My friends, how deep this thirst runs now,
For fear has drained what once could steady;
We bowed beneath false lashes long,
And called our wounds the truth already.

Dear sufferers, how far we’ve fallen,
For we forsook what once we knew;
Believing lies that tore us open—
Will we yet learn to see fear through?

Hi friends how has life been treating you?

Searching To Find?

Love must be free to wonder,
Not stand still praising light,
While our own lamp lies under,
But walk within its shining,
Hunting our fleeing night,
True Love our lives defining.

Re: Social anxiety and panic attacks

Hi @DownMoreThanUp ,

Things have been heading on the upwards incline... touch wood 🪵 🧿🧿

Today I tried breathwork for the first time, and I feel like something shifted...

How have you been?

Re: Social anxiety and panic attacks

@Rosepetal96 That is wonderful to hear. It is so very promising when we've been prisoners of our situation for so long and then are given tools that bring us some control. Even 1-2 percent shift is remarkable and satisfying then.👍

i’m learning not to force myself through fear the old hard way, but to grow steadier ways of coping whatever mood I’m in. Anxiety has less hold now as I learn to respect myself when afraid, and discover that strength can grow gently inside weakness. Self love has so much more compassion when i fail myself than my self hating dislike does. 😍

i did joined Recovery and made an appointment to talk to someone today but the appointment did not show up, but i could not make another one, and now i cannot remember what time it was. Have to look into that in a minute.

i hope you have a wonderful day.

Re: Social anxiety and panic attacks

@DownMoreThanUp I'm glad to hear you are beginning to find strength in sitting through the uncertainty and giving yourself the compassion to feel the emotions of when faced with challenges rather than looking at yourself negatively for it. This is also something I am working on improving with myself as well. Naming the emotion, recognising the why, and accepting it rather than pushing it away has been an invaluable tool to utilise.

That's a great step to take in signing up for recovery and I am sorry to hear that the appointment was a no show. I hope that you can follow that up and ensure that you are still able to access that support ✨️

Thank you for sharing the quotes I feel that they are all very resonating, but specifically the social anxiety one, with challenging avoidance behaviours. I am slowly ticking this off every day..

I hope you have a lovely day 🌻

Re: Social anxiety and panic attacks

@Rosepetal96 So good to hear about your efforts at recovery. Indeed reversing past behaviours that spring loaded us evermore hurt and anxiety is very important. Good to hear you are taking your self care also very serious.🤗

i know that identity of the person who is going to be in contact today but i have no idea what time this might be. So i walk around with my phone in my pocket so i wont miss it. i assume no more chance after 3pm W.A seeing it be 2 hours later over East.

They Feasted On My Good Life

They fed upon the good in me,
while I forgot my name.
But light returned and broke the night;
I rose through living flame.

They knotted me from what was real,
and dragged me far below.
Through dungeons built of fear and pain,
where lost souls come and go.

I fought to clear their choking webs,
but every turn was blind.
The more I strained to free myself,
the more they ruled my mind.

They lived upon what should have grown,
and drained my rightful days.
They turned my strength against itself,
through hidden twisting ways.

But light returned and broke the night,
I saw beyond their game.
The traps they sprung to finish me
became their own false shame.

My wounds cried out, the battle rose,
they thought I would be slain.
Yet fierce love stirred and stood within,
and walked me through the flame.

It broke the tyrants great and small,
and loosed their iron claim.
It gave me back my stolen life,
and called me by my name.

Now I feast upon the good once lost,
and bless the growing day.
For truth returned to dwell in me,
and drove their night away.
