Hey @MedicinalGypsy ,

I can hear how hard and emotionally distressing this whole situation is for you.

Have you practiced any grounding techniques as a way of finding your feet again?

From my own experience, I found that the more I wanted something 'out of my head', the more it was in my head! And that's why I find ground activities the most helpful.

Have you been out of the house today? What do you think would be helpful for you at this time?

I am sorry you feel a mess and had to call helplines. @MedicinalGypsy

I can only let you know that, many of us have experienced different DV betrayals and yes, even trauma bonding and many consequences form relationships that are manipulative and harmful. It did take me a long time to even start to recover. Truth be known, I will never fully recover as the damage to the family is too deep. But I do try and find those things to Grateful for. I saw you over on the gratitude thread. I am not sure, if you have a safe housing situation yet. I found having my own bed and room so important, for a very gradual sense of finding inner calm and peace. I had used to meditate when I was younger, but during the period of separation I simply could not, my mind and brain were far to scattered and agitated. I often can meditate again now, and I do different practices, like metta, loving kindness, or mindfulness, or Christian prayer, or a colour meditation I do on all the chakras ... my own weird invention...lol. SOme people dont like meditation. So I am not sure what will work for you. Even if you find habits or hobbies from earlier in your life, to help bring your being into a better frame for you.

I love your name. What does it mean for you? My one dress up as a kid was as a gypsy! lol

You have met our wonderful Peppy...

Heya @MedicinalGypsy ,

Just checking in to see where things are at if you feel up to sharing. Did you end up spending some time with your mum (and use her spa)?

Re: Keep bursting into tears

Hey @MedicinalGypsy ,

Thank you for reaching out. I'm glad you are speaking to domestic violence support services. If you don't feel safe, you may need to contact 000.

I'm sorry to hear you cannot get your belongings. Are police able to go with you to collect them?

As for enjoying the spa daily, what a privilege! I really hope you find some relief by practicing self-care.

I'm also keen to hear how de-attachement meditation is going for you. Do you listen to an app?

The pool and spa are extremely healing, unfortunately we were living in a 40ft coach i left nsw on plane visit my mum as she had just been diagnosed with Alzheimer's he drove the coach to Victoria i flew to Adelaide ive been here july 2025 he left me stranded in Adelaide with no $ then when I called him he started to accuse me of stealing. I haven't returned I woke up to financial abuse and emotional abuse gaslighting and manipulation behaviours i didn't realise until i spoke with domestic violence what hes been doing
Ive little to no trust in anyone the last 7 months hes been manipulating me that we are re connecting unfortunately where my personal belongings are at his father's and sisters home I won't go there there toxic and hes dad abusive to everyone
