Re: Keep bursting into tears

Hi @MedicinalGypsy

I am so deeply sorry about what has happened. It is completely understandable that you "keep bursting into tears". You are not just losing a marriage; you are grieving two decades of shared history while facing a betrayal that has shattered your sense of safety. Please know that your tears are not a sign of weakness; they are your body's way of processing an unbearable amount of pressure.

I just wanted to take the time to validate the pain that you are experiencing in your life right now. Ending a long-term marriage of 23 years is a profound life transition. To have that ending "dragged out" for seven months is a form of emotional exhaustion that would drain anyone. I see you also mentioned your vagus nerve and your stomach, and I'm aware of the biological link between trauma and the digestive system, and when the "heart" is broken, the body often reflects that stress through physical symptoms.

Perhaps the most important thing you can do right now is prioritise yourself. Given the health symptoms you've described, your physical safety and health must be a priority. I encourage you to keep attending those specialist appointments because you deserve a healthy body. I also recommend practising gentle self-care, and since your stomach is sensitive, try to focus on keeping hydrated with small, frequent sips of water or electrolyte drinks if you can tolerate them. I also wanted to say that you don't have to "fix" your life or heal your heart today. When the pain is this overwhelming, the goal is simply to get through the next hour, or even the next five minutes.

Lastly, you are not alone! You have survived "trauma after trauma", and while you feel so fragile, there is a core of resilience in you that is seeking help/support and expressing its truth. Please continue to reach out on here, to your medical professionals, and trusted friends and family. You deserve to be held and cared for during this time. 💚
