Something’s not right

Cuddlebears Space

Cuddlebears Space

Hello everyone I’ve made a space here.

I’ve been having a really rough time. I have experienced a lot of trauma and abuse since childhood. I’ve been on forums for a while now and thought to start a thread so that my journey and anyone that cares to see how I’m going and offer support or advice can find me here.

I have complex ptsd, anxiety and severe depression with anhedonia. I’m currently tapering antidepressant and it’s been brutal.

I am really struggling everyday and can’t find ways to feel better. I’ve tried so many things.

I am having daily panic attacks, my body shutdown and I am so lonely with very little support. There’s a real heavy darkness around me I feel so unloved and worthless. I can’t do basic things like shower, eat, clean and going out is very very hard. I have no purpose or meaning though I try to create it but nothing works.

More recently I’ve experienced passive SI and sometimes more active. The tapering I believe has caused these symptoms. I’m safe.

Im finding it hard to write this all up. I hope it gives you some insight. @MissGremlin @AlwaysMyself@Chasingsunsets

Re: Cuddlebears Space

hey @Cuddlebear my friend, thanks for tagging me in! ❤️ I'm always here for you and sitting with you through all of the darkness 🫂

when I was going through steroid withdrawals a few years ago, doing the basic tasks even simple ones were extremely difficult and impossible for me to do because the withdrawal symptoms were debilitating enough for me (and others that have gone through a similar condition) to fall into a full-on depressive episode that I have never expected myself to have/experience before it all happened. That time was the first time that I've ever had su!c!dal thoughts and everything in me was filled with self-loathing/self-hatred related thoughts and feelings. Although at that time i was still able to do some simple tasks like brushing my teeth, wash my face, cleaning the dishes and I was living with my parents then. And even though my mum didn't support me (emotionally and mentally) at all when I had this condition, I can't really imagine what it would be like if I had experienced this condition whilst living alone, and I don't want to think about it. I'm just so glad that it's already over.

I'm rooting for you my friend, it's really difficult at the moment. Also, I'm very proud of you for continuing to push through and still being on here to be able to share your journey and all the struggles you've endured and are still enduring with us ❤️

I too have experienced a lot of bullying, ostracising and ableist treatment since childhood too, and a lot of that has made me became the person I've been and still am, in both good and bad way. At times (even now) I wonder a lot on what life would be like for me (for the better) if I was born a neurotypical person instead (and not neurodivergent) because I hate getting looked down upon by many people in this world -- people that see the ones that seem 'unusual' or 'weird' as not good for society. Plus being an asian myself, from all the social groups I've joined that are for autistic people including me, being neurodivergent or disabled as an asian seems very rare in the asian community.... so with that, I still am hard on myself because of all the things I've been through that then caused me to do bad things to the people in my life including my family members in the past + ongoingly...(except for my dad cause my dad is also at fault for all the certain/specific things he started that made his relationships to everyone he's associated with going downhill)

@tyme I’m just at home today. I seem to be in a shutdown phase and gave no motivation for anything. It’s warm here so couldn’t take my seeing guide dog out.

I made some fresh veggies food chop for my bird which is their main diet. Was going to clean bird cage but that’s a bit too much for me today. I do it once a week as she’s a messy parrot. But her cage is ok. Waiting a day or two won’t cause any issue.

What have you been upto?

Re: Cuddlebears Space

I haven't been up to much. Went to church in the morning then came online here @Cuddlebear . I want to do something after I log off which is soon. I just don't know what I'm doing yet!

I really want to go to the beach, but it might be too late. Otherwise, I'll take the dog for a walk.

Re: Cuddlebears Space

🤗 @Cuddlebear , just as you are holding hope and belief for me to get better when I have doubts, so I am holding hope and belief for you and that you will get better even when you have doubts.

I've been wondering - has your medication dosages changed (lower the old one, and/or increased the new one) at all since post-Christmas time? 🤔 Or have they been kept at the same level to allow your body to stabilise from the physical aspects.

Have you still been able to see your GP fortnightly and let them know how things are? What do they say/suggest for how to best support you during this? (I know your GP is not always right in their perspective on what is "best" 😬, but I am curious now that they agreed to take the tapering slower how things are going with them?)

Have you still be able to have your weekly support workings coming to help?

I know you can't increase the number of hours they come (I wish you could!), but I am hoping/glad that you have at least a few hours of in-person contact and they can "check-in" on you physically during this time also.

I am glad you are reaching out here again - both as a sign that you feel up to it, but also because I hope that the pain and struggle shared can mean it can be lessened for you. And that we can help with the anxious thoughts if you wish to share them.

I wish I could gift you inner peace and rest. 🤗. That is my desire for you, to be calm and content and rested once again.
