Cuddlebears Space

Cuddlebears Space

Hello everyone I’ve made a space here.

I’ve been having a really rough time. I have experienced a lot of trauma and abuse since childhood. I’ve been on forums for a while now and thought to start a thread so that my journey and anyone that cares to see how I’m going and offer support or advice can find me here.

I have complex ptsd, anxiety and severe depression with anhedonia. I’m currently tapering antidepressant and it’s been brutal.

I am really struggling everyday and can’t find ways to feel better. I’ve tried so many things.

I am having daily panic attacks, my body shutdown and I am so lonely with very little support. There’s a real heavy darkness around me I feel so unloved and worthless. I can’t do basic things like shower, eat, clean and going out is very very hard. I have no purpose or meaning though I try to create it but nothing works.

More recently I’ve experienced passive SI and sometimes more active. The tapering I believe has caused these symptoms. I’m safe.

Im finding it hard to write this all up. I hope it gives you some insight. @MissGremlin @AlwaysMyself@Chasingsunsets

@ENKELI Hello lovely how are you? Yes I was in psychiatric for almost two months. I’m still very unwell. It wasn’t easy and still I have a lot to resolve mental health wise. Feeking so alone and emotional. I hope you are having a good day. Have missed you.

Hi @Cuddlebear re-adjusting to society must be tough

I'm plodding through, struggling a little. But not as bad as you

Hello @Cuddlebear,

Thank you so much for updating us.

I am really glad that you are safe and that you have got a solid medical support team right now. (Edit: I just read another post where you mentioned that supports have dropped... I am so sorry. What support are you needing most right now?).

I can imagine it would have been very grounding to have other women around who could understand your experience - are you keeping in contact with any of them?

I would love to hear how you're doing this week. 🥰

@Cuddlebear oh that's rough, it sounds like you wanted to put some time and effort in, so to be turned away would be very disappointing! I hope you did still get something out of it and that you're being gentle with your lovely self <3

Re: Cuddlebears Space

Hi @Cuddlebear, which tapering guide are you using? I saw you mention reducing by half between nights which sounds a lot. There is a lot of talk nowadays about hyperbolic tapering which can be as slow as 10% per month down to decrements of less than a milligram. The University of Queensland puts out this resource which is accepted by the RACGP and is explicitly for long term use. Perhaps consider talking to your psychiatrist about it.

@Cuddlebear

I've been thinking of you and wondering how you've been. Just read here above that you had 2 months in hospital. I am hoping it was beneficial, whether for increased support and respite or for them figuring out what can help going forward?

One thing I didn't mention in my thread's update was I (voluntarily) spent a month in a psych hospital during my absence. My first time (previously I had declined when suggested to me a few times). At least now I know in what ways/situations the hospital may be beneficial (or won't be) and what challenges I will face in that environment also. (My counsellor was also surprised/disappointed the hospital discharged me at the time they did given my condition at the time. I'm sorry this also happened to you too.)
