Since covid my best friend (Jasmine*) and I have done advent calendars together.

I finished building hers and mine this year with cute individual little drawers.

I just opened today's drawer and it was full of foam sticky stars

Hello @avant-garde my sweet, it's just such a strong word and it's been said to me in cruel ways.

I got to watch a lovely little Christmas performance this morning. It reminded me of the true meaning of Christmas ☺️. I struggled with my anxiety through it but I had an amazing friend online to chat to and my fidgets with me.

I guess that's a small blessing for me that my parents never really used that word, they were a lot more creative in what they called me

I'm awake having slept through a bunch of alarms after waking up at 3am and not being able to sleep, so I wrote a poem and then fell asleep.

Lady flow got here this morning and my wrist is still weak

@avant-garde oh I had many creative names used towards me by different people. I'm actually very thankful to have never known my so called father in alot of ways.

I'm sorry you woke up at 3am, I was awake around then too as woke up at 2.09am after I had a nightmare. I hope writing the poem helped you sweet. I'm actually going to write one about losing some online friends after being called a scammer and being blocked from a group where I shared my poetry. It's something that's really affected me lately.

Ugh not lady flow, that's definitely one thing I don't miss. What happened to your wrist sweet, hope it's feeling better soon.

Hey fellow Grinches! @avant-garde @MissGremlin @Chasingsunsets @Flutterbug9 (no pressure, I know you'll be off for a bit).

I dislike the commercialisation of christmas also. I prefer the original heart of it, and even if it werent also value from a christian angle I also appreciate the sharing of love to friends/supports. I love the opportunity to give heartfelt gifts of thanks, but i dislike the focus on having to buy gifts for the sake of it and the fake cheer.

I also like that I get a paid week off work during the government shutdown period.

But the flipside i guess is that a lot of our support services are also on holiday leave and that can make things a bit harder if we're in a crisis patch.

Sort of balances each other out lol.

I guess at least i dont have to make lunch on christmas day?

I mean, i bring a plate of something. But i dont have to cook a full meal. I will ignore that i often dont like the food options though 🤣😅🤭.

@avant-garde @AlwaysMyself @MissGremlin @Cuddlebear @Flutterbug9 personally i have always been an Easter kind of girl for obvious reasons. Christmas is loaded with so much expectations it is bound for disappointment. it is so commercial too with presents etc. Plus the suffering of the animals during this period. Idk it seems to me at least to be highly over rated.

@Bunniekins I totally agree. Christmas is a big commercial enterprise. It’s completely lost its way and many people find it a very hard time of year.
