~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Hey hi hello! Welcome to the second iteration of...

~ The Toolshed ~

I decided to make a new thread, as the first one had errors and phantom pages, and was getting quite long! You can still find all the amazing pics, inspiring quotes, and uplifting messages of the first Toolshed here.

What is the Toolshed? Ain't a place to hang your hammer! Hehe this is a space where we can share the things that have helped us in our recovery. Tools, coping skills, inspiring ideas, and messages of hope and growth, is what this space is all about!!

You can stay connected and up to date on this space by favouriting, or by subscribing to the thread - head to the top of the page, and find the three dots to the right of the thread title (next to the star), click, and from the drop down menu you can 'favourite' or 'subscribe' - and clicking the star itself will also favourite the thread for you.

Favourite threads are then always available in your favourites list which should appear on the right hand side of most forums pages - or you can go to your profile and scroll down to the 'Favourites' section under your recent posts.

If you subscribe, it means that you will get a notification every time someone posts something new in the thread. So up to you if you simply want it to be always accessible, or if you want all the updates, or both!

I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! So without further ado, here's my latest batch!

@Taali

"I like it because I have struggled with self doubt quite a lot lately. Even when I have accomplished something I doubt it is going to last."

*

Can you see how bad life tries to steal what we gained? That is how understand what you describe when we see good we give it to the bad thought instead of holding onto the good.

God knows that has been the story of my life fighting a mental illness. So the fight is not to accomplish more negative mindset, for then it becomes a burden i found, but by simply give the doubt no home so there is more room in our hearts for accomplishment to follow. The more we feed doubt, or create doubt by placing our faith in things that never come true, the less we will be able to hold onto the good we gained.

To hold onto good and to resist bad trying to take that from me could be summed up as The essential ingredient, to surviving my mental illness and retain the good i gained. While learning more and more to let go of the bad holding onto good i gained doing that.

It takes a bit for the benefits to begin showing but resisting any bad life, a free dwelling place in our hearts and minds, is the best way to retain, and grow good in life.

For does heeding depressive, hopeless, despairing, regretful, doubting, guilty, shaming, or fearful thoughts build any good in us ever? Never in my life apart of resisting such bad life pressing my suffering a mental illness. Doing this has gained me lots of goodies not just surviving a bad time but walking away enriched instead of improvised, did not ever get heeding/succumbing the negativity of my moods.

You have no idea how much your words of wisdom have resonated with me today @DownMoreThanUp

I have been unable to enjoy whatever happiness I've ever had during my journey with MI

Always imagining the bubble to burst so I don't embrace those precious moments of joy ...

Go well my friend @Taali 🧡

Thanks. Glad you got something out of that. For yes we suffering a MI are very much more challenged than the average person to hold onto our HARD EARNED good life. That also means that when you feel weakest, you are strongest not heeding that, but waiting for the inability it to pass without 'feeding' it more inability as our life. Just doing that already begins to grow us determination and ability.

Those who suffer from MI can be compared to those we live in the outlandish places of this world, like the North Pole, Antarctic, or some godforsaken wilderness devoid of anything much good.

When i first understood how many years of dining hopelessness, despair, regrets, doubts, sadness, and fear had caused me my suicidal times i felt so crappy agreeing, i began to understand the trap MI got me into. Where unwittingly i had been facilitating my own loss of good life continentally, for i agreed with the very bad times that had robbed away my good life - and even often accepted the blame feeling bad about myself feeling bad. Incredible how hard bad life in me fought me when i realised that not agreeing suffering was the only way to have it die to its dominion over my life Down Here, but it did help keep me out of the hole, even when depression is crushing.

@DownMoreThanUp i watched a few episodes of alone series on sbs.

They put people in cold, deserted areas. No fish, no kangaroos. No drinking water

People who win the competition know how to eat tree bark, and of course fish.

Yes mental illness is like that tv show.

I am worried about the future.

I don't think I could survive on the land without food from supermarket.

@Appleblossom @DownMoreThanUp @MissGremlin @Taali

Hope everyone has a good Friday night.

I am starting a dbt group on Monday. I have ended two toxic relationships but still feel so overwhelmed.

Pain (normal aches and pains), temperature, smells, sound, hunger, sight and living with my mum who has OCD makes my life so overstimulated. Wish to turn down the noise.

Thankfully got some meds.

Good night

@Lozenge Sounds like you are moving forward from difficult times. I'd love to hear how you find the dbt.

Yes, I love the land, but honestly, it is a bit romantic, and I am not up to survival or prepping.

@DownMoreThanUp

@MissGremlin hugs beautiful

good night @Taali and all...

OMG I love the pictures @DownMoreThanUp

MI is so isolating.

And the term Mental health issues is bandied around waay too much

Those of us who really struggle to get through each day are lost in the crowd.
