~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Hey hi hello! Welcome to the second iteration of...

~ The Toolshed ~

I decided to make a new thread, as the first one had errors and phantom pages, and was getting quite long! You can still find all the amazing pics, inspiring quotes, and uplifting messages of the first Toolshed here.

What is the Toolshed? Ain't a place to hang your hammer! Hehe this is a space where we can share the things that have helped us in our recovery. Tools, coping skills, inspiring ideas, and messages of hope and growth, is what this space is all about!!

You can stay connected and up to date on this space by favouriting, or by subscribing to the thread - head to the top of the page, and find the three dots to the right of the thread title (next to the star), click, and from the drop down menu you can 'favourite' or 'subscribe' - and clicking the star itself will also favourite the thread for you.

Favourite threads are then always available in your favourites list which should appear on the right hand side of most forums pages - or you can go to your profile and scroll down to the 'Favourites' section under your recent posts.

If you subscribe, it means that you will get a notification every time someone posts something new in the thread. So up to you if you simply want it to be always accessible, or if you want all the updates, or both!

I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! So without further ado, here's my latest batch!

@Mustang67 Thanks for caring. Yes i have a crappy illness and it has been rather taxing learning to stand on my own two feet.

Yes ultimately all my poems point to surviving mental illness. Each one speaks Victory in their own right. So many things i have had to learn over the years to deal with crushing depression, destabilising trauma memories, and/or mind blowing psychotic episodes. For i learned to understand that even as dealing with the down becomes a well trodden road doing it successfully, only happens when the bad life is shed along the way not taken along.

@Jynx @tyme @Bunniekins @Kindcrystal

The truth is i have been going through a very unstable place with my wife leaving, and the massive impact this has had on my daily life, including suffering psychoses and struggling to regain sleep and stability.

Depression unchecked is always my worst and my most dangerous state. Luckily that hardly ever happens any more. For i know the storm will pass i just have to let to pass through.

Some days just hit heavier than the rest.
Harder to wake up.
Harder to smile.
Even the things I love feel like a weight I don’t want to carry.
I’ve known for a long time these days would come.
But knowing doesn’t make them easier to face.
Sure, there are beautiful days.
Moments that take your breath away.
Things to look forward to.
But that doesn’t erase the hard ones.
It doesn’t quiet the struggle when it shows up uninvited.
So I do what I’ve always done.
I show up anyway.
I fight back, even when I’m tired.
And I keep believing in myself…
Even when everything around me feels like it’s falling apart.
People see my strength and think I’ve got it all together.
I don’t.
Truth is, some days I’m just trying to stay afloat.
Trying not to break down in the middle of it all.
Trying to find even the smallest piece of light to hold onto.
And I know I’m not alone in that.
I see you.
The ones pushing through the same weight.
The ones forcing a smile when you’ve got nothing left in the tank.
We’re in this together, whether we say it out loud or not.
So let’s take the wins where we can find them.
The small victories.
The quiet moments that remind us we’re still here.
Let’s keep fighting for what matters.
And when we find even a glimpse of happiness…
Hold onto it with everything we’ve got.
Because some days, that’s more than enough.
And honestly…
That’s everything.

Hi @Mustang67

Thanks for thinking to tag me, your posts regularly inspire me and/or go straight to the heart of what I'm feeling. For the time being I'd like to be untagged. I'll still check in and support your Toolshed 2 posts when I can. Keep being you and take care. 🐈
