Hey hi hello! Welcome to the second iteration of...

~ The Toolshed ~

I decided to make a new thread, as the first one had errors and phantom pages, and was getting quite long! You can still find all the amazing pics, inspiring quotes, and uplifting messages of the first Toolshed here.

What is the Toolshed? Ain't a place to hang your hammer! Hehe this is a space where we can share the things that have helped us in our recovery. Tools, coping skills, inspiring ideas, and messages of hope and growth, is what this space is all about!!

You can stay connected and up to date on this space by favouriting, or by subscribing to the thread - head to the top of the page, and find the three dots to the right of the thread title (next to the star), click, and from the drop down menu you can 'favourite' or 'subscribe' - and clicking the star itself will also favourite the thread for you.

Favourite threads are then always available in your favourites list which should appear on the right hand side of most forums pages - or you can go to your profile and scroll down to the 'Favourites' section under your recent posts.

If you subscribe, it means that you will get a notification every time someone posts something new in the thread. So up to you if you simply want it to be always accessible, or if you want all the updates, or both!

I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! So without further ado, here's my latest batch!

Everyone always had something to say about who I should be.

How I should act.

Who I should love.

What I should become.

And for a long time…

I listened.

I let their voices get louder than my own.

Tried to fit into shapes that were never meant for me.

Tried to be easier to accept… easier to understand.

And all it did was make me lose myself.

So I stopped.

Because the truth is…

None of them walked my path.

None of them felt the weight I carried.

They weren’t there for the nights I broke down.

The battles I fought in silence.

The times I had to rebuild myself from nothing.

So no…

I don’t expect them to understand me.

But I’m also not changing for them anymore.

I won’t shrink.

I won’t soften.

And I sure as hell won’t become someone I’m not just to make others comfortable.

I tried that life.

It almost broke me.

Now… I move to my own rhythm.

I fight my battles my way.

I make my choices without apology.

I don’t need approval.

And I don’t chase acceptance.

I’d rather stand out than blend in.

Stand up instead of staying quiet.

Be heard for exactly who I am.

Some will call me too much.

Too strong.

Too independent.

And I’ll just smile… because I know what that really means.

I have a voice.

And I use it.

I have boundaries.

And I protect them.

I have strength.

And I’ve earned every ounce of it.

I’m not for everyone…

And I was never meant to be.

But the ones who are mine?

They see me.

They understand me.

They love me without trying to change me.

And that’s all I need.

The rest can think whatever they want.

Their opinions don’t shape my life.

I don’t need permission to live fully.

To love deeply.

To chase what sets my soul on fire.

I may not always be liked…

But I will be respected.

Because everything I am…

I fought to become.

Every scar.

Every lesson.

Every sleepless night…

That was the price I paid to grow into this woman.

And I’m still rising.

Still evolving.

Still becoming stronger with every step forward.

So when they sit back and judge from a distance…

I keep moving.

Because by the time they finish talking…

I’m already onto the next dream.

The next challenge.

The next moment that makes me feel alive.

I don’t live in negativity.

I don’t stay stuck in doubt.

I rise.

Every single day.

And if the world needs a reminder…

I’ll say it louder.

This is who I am.

And I’m not going anywhere.

A poem i have been working on today

I am not made to suffer falsehood or fear—
I am learning, step by step,
to leave the lie and live in the truth that sets free to be.

The lie may shout,
but it cannot stand.
It presses,
it rushes,
it demands to be believed—
yet it has no root.

I have walked in it before
and felt its weight.
So I turn again,
not to what is loud,
but to what is true.
and so my truth remains
when the noise has gone.

I do not climb my way back.
I do not earn my place again.
I turn—
even weak and fallen
even unsure and confused
and I am still met
by myself true.

For true is never far from me.
so I return from believing lies,
and find
I was true all along.
I do not need to fix any moments,
I do not need to force my peace.
What is true in me
is not fragile or no good.

So I breathe my relief a sigh!
Releasing the pressure,
I let go of the lies pressing
And in the stillness,
I am carried back.
true to myself to be.

I am not darkness.
more a light
which wandered for its source,
and then dimmed,
forgot what is really true.
yet learning to turn from pain
It is The Light still in me
which calls me back.

Because true does not reject fallen.
rather truth restores fallen
up right and so back up again.
Slowly at first,
yet always faithfully true,
truth completely dedicated
retrieving lost and sore in me.

So I am not too late,
but a fallen light.
finding my source back
in the truth of myself
Always living my moments true
where the lies rule me hurt
For the agony of heart and mind.
is me believing what is not true
about The Light of my life!
