~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Hey hi hello! Welcome to the second iteration of...

~ The Toolshed ~

I decided to make a new thread, as the first one had errors and phantom pages, and was getting quite long! You can still find all the amazing pics, inspiring quotes, and uplifting messages of the first Toolshed here.

What is the Toolshed? Ain't a place to hang your hammer! Hehe this is a space where we can share the things that have helped us in our recovery. Tools, coping skills, inspiring ideas, and messages of hope and growth, is what this space is all about!!

You can stay connected and up to date on this space by favouriting, or by subscribing to the thread - head to the top of the page, and find the three dots to the right of the thread title (next to the star), click, and from the drop down menu you can 'favourite' or 'subscribe' - and clicking the star itself will also favourite the thread for you.

Favourite threads are then always available in your favourites list which should appear on the right hand side of most forums pages - or you can go to your profile and scroll down to the 'Favourites' section under your recent posts.

If you subscribe, it means that you will get a notification every time someone posts something new in the thread. So up to you if you simply want it to be always accessible, or if you want all the updates, or both!

I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! So without further ado, here's my latest batch!

@MissGremlin I love your affirmations. They always resonate and remind me of important things. It’s so easy to forget this stuff when you’re going through mental illness issues.

Re: ~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

@MissGremlin I am really suffering because of the running around I did. When I woke up this afternoon my back was even worse. So I have decided to spend the day in bed.

But the first trip was to the auction house that I managed to pick up the 2021 Great Aussie Coin Hunt Tub and Folder set for $40. It is brand new and it looks like the tube hasn't been opened. A lot of people will buy a heap of these hoping to get the coloured $1 coin that is in 1 out of 10 tubes. Then they just sell the sets that don't. Any places that sell them at the moment, start at $75 so I am happy I got a good deal, and the auction house was only 15 mins away so I saved on postage.

I have been collecting special $1 coins that are made when they have an ANDA Money Fair each year, as they only mint between 3,000 and 5,000 which makes them very scarce. I have all of the animal & flora ones except one of the first one released in 2019. This is the Kangaroo Paw Privy Mark from the Perth money show.

The cheapest I have seen it for is $90 and everyone else is over $100. But I found one that is coming up for auction on the 19th.

It is included in this lot and currently no one has placed a bid on this lot. And the starting bid is $40. And it also includes a World Money Fair $1 coin, which is what I was thinking of collecting next. So it would be great to pick this one up. Will probably just try and sell the other coins.

Re: ~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Sounds like 2 perfect finds for you @Mustang67 😊

What is the differences between the various "Mob of Roos" coins? Is it just the decorative casing they are placed in? Or is there differences in the coins somehow too? (have to excuse my ignorance! sorry! But interested to learn!)

Re: ~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

What got you into this @Mustang67 ?

In response to: Re: ~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Re: ~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

@AlwaysMyself thank you for asking.

The special Mob of Roos $1 coin have what they call a Privy Mark. This is a small, specific symbol, letter, or design element added to a coin, which adds commemorative value to a specific coin issue. So the ones that I am collecting usually have a Privy Mark of either an animal or flora which relate to the state the coin show is in. And believe me the Privy Mark is tiny and could very easily be missed. This will give you an example.

Hopefully I have explained it well enough for you.
