~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Hey hi hello! Welcome to the second iteration of...

~ The Toolshed ~

I decided to make a new thread, as the first one had errors and phantom pages, and was getting quite long! You can still find all the amazing pics, inspiring quotes, and uplifting messages of the first Toolshed here.

What is the Toolshed? Ain't a place to hang your hammer! Hehe this is a space where we can share the things that have helped us in our recovery. Tools, coping skills, inspiring ideas, and messages of hope and growth, is what this space is all about!!

You can stay connected and up to date on this space by favouriting, or by subscribing to the thread - head to the top of the page, and find the three dots to the right of the thread title (next to the star), click, and from the drop down menu you can 'favourite' or 'subscribe' - and clicking the star itself will also favourite the thread for you.

Favourite threads are then always available in your favourites list which should appear on the right hand side of most forums pages - or you can go to your profile and scroll down to the 'Favourites' section under your recent posts.

If you subscribe, it means that you will get a notification every time someone posts something new in the thread. So up to you if you simply want it to be always accessible, or if you want all the updates, or both!

I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! So without further ado, here's my latest batch!

Pics just came through for me @MissGremlin .

I really love EVERY ONE of them today.

I am hoping you and others can read back on them as many times as needed today to remind of these things. 🥰

I’m hanging on to the wording with the firebird about finding a way to feel like myself again.

feels like that’s at other end of a very long dark tunnel atm, tunnel with only the tiniest speck of light

@MissGremlin

@ENKELI It is really interesting that you would share this point of view with me at this moment. For it kind of puts things in perspective for me.

For years there have been people in my life angry with me for disappointing them someone with a mental illness. Like my in laws for example. For some influential people in my extended family thought it really important to try and smear me their dislike and hate any chance they got! Even trying very hard to set my children up against me when they were younger. (Luckily most of that treatment has or is dying out now.)

It was horrible having to go through those times. To have people hate me badly over the years, especially when i had fallen deepest, has been the worst part of my sufferings, and the hardest to forgive. Yet people who feel indifferent about me never came around to hurt me or try and entice my kids to hate me. What that concerns it is far better to have people feel indifferent about you than hate you. What you reckon?

Those who understand wars begin in the human heart understand where the peace must be to end its world wide sufferings..When evil look your way fire them their flame!Believing words spoken by darkness blocks the Light of Day coming their Way.

@DownMoreThanUp I never experienced hate in my family, my father was emotionally abusive and manipulative and disowned me and I have family members now who have disowned me but I really don't care much about them anymore.
I have mostly felt supported with my mental health, especially by my aunt and brother.

I am struggling with hating my half sister at the moment and trying hard to give it to God. I know it's better for me to let go but she is such an awful person and I am struggling with her controlling behaviour that is to my detriment regarding my dad and his will.

I guess hate is the wrong word as I don't feel anything toward her aside from anger at her selfish behaviour. If I never hear from her again I don't care.

Unlike the majority of people here on Sane I had a wonderful upbringing, my childhood was without privilege and we were close to the poverty line but I had love from my family and friends. It's only as an adult that I was abused emotionally and financially. I was diagnosed with depression in my 30's and up until recently managed it well.

Now I have more down days than up and anxiety is a regular visitor.

Time to head off and step away! I don't like being of those people who constantly complains to get attention so I am planning on doing some praying and playing a game and finish my latest diamond painting.

Take care of yourself, I will check in later xo
