Loneliness

Loneliness

Loneliness is the biggest mental health issue worldwide and travelling through the forums I've come across many people looking for connection. Imagine if we could just talk to each other! It seems I need to learn to tag people, so they know that I've responded. I'm still learning to get my way around here. I do understand why people would leave, thinking, like me, that they could just go into a chat room. I guess it all needs to be monitored. Anyway, that's my whinge for today! My encouragement for today goes like this: There is no such thing as normal. The only normal I know is a setting on the washing machine! Be kind to yourself! Don't take it personally if I don't get back to you. I still can't work it all out! You'll just have to imagine my smiling emoji.

Re: Loneliness

@REDLINEZ750 Nice poem, and been so true for so many. i like how you did that image as well for it will speak to others having lived it like that.

Yes for sure, alcohol, drugs, gambling, porn, over spending, inflicting pain to ourselves, or even being overly dependant on a loved one, doctor or supportive person. And i'm sure many other things and situations can make us, (especially when suffering deeply,) act addictively on us.

Yet i learned to understand that Jesus was right when He pointed out, that not what goes into me makes me go wrong, but what lives inside of me, stuffs my life up. For in my life i realised it was the 'hot demander' i let take control of my heart and mind, which was causing me my problems. And so VERY much more trouble than those 'goodies', the demander inside of me, had set his possessive eyes on.

Yet when Jesus got rid of the demander in me, telling me slaves should not rule as kings, my addictive problems with God's created good died as well.

Awesome that!

(Didn't realise i had to edited and you had not read this yet. Sorry.)

Re: Loneliness

@heartathome thank you pleasures also mine, scriptures powerful helpful and validating of everyone's worth in its pages, it's saddening how many preachers complicate something so simple and clear for the sake of a longer sermon and how they perceive it is taken as gospel by the parishes simply for being up the front.

Sometimes I'll ask where it says that with manners

@REDLINEZ750

Sorry i did reply to you before, but without thinking posted a poem i wrote to myself overcome by my drug addiction. Yet this promptly had my post deleted charged with being judgemental. Not sure if that was true when i wrote this poem, because i was snowed right under at the time, and needed a reality check. The very lines that caused my reply to be deleted was the truth i needed to realise about addiction stuffing my life up at the time. Maybe i should have been clearer it was to myself.

i do like your poem and relate to a lot you say. i also like the image you used to write it on. Well done.

For me, after years of struggle with quite a few different addictions, i learned to understand that it is not the substance, good, or person i craved after when addicted, but the 'voice of the demander' within me, which caused me to have so many problems.

So after Jesus set me free from that inner voice of demand, heeding Him instead, i have had no problems getting addicted using God's good creation. For me learning not to heed the voice of demand has set me freed to use, or not to use, God's good creation at will. Which has been wonderfully liberating.

i hope you have had a great day.

Re: Loneliness

@DownMoreThanUp i was lead to jesus through a chain of eventsand was a dark hour for me when i saw a man walking within voice range having an extremely short window i noticed he was carrying books and asked if i could please read something tonight i will be here in the morning. Bible.

First time i ever got told dont read it from first page. Huh?

Says find new testament read from there, thats the bible everything before it just explains why we needed the new one.

um ok.

all my life since so young, Sunday school, ymca camps we all know things weren't spoken about in 70s n 80s like now i only knew people that knew scripture must of been my punishment for sin, plus never got past psalms every time I'd read the thing to be good and be in heaven coz i did not like hell.

long time ago and before 1990, i hated anything to do with God or churches, people threatening me with hell coz id say dumb shit like i worship the one God all religions fear . in all your books, my anger and person was getting bigger and stronger i digress, fella with the bible was 2017, i just wanted something to read and looking back if i had of just been looking in other direction for seconds i didn't get the bible or the weird don't read a book from the start. i still have the writings from that night this is memory alone.

i was in John. dont know how nothing leading up is clear this is, reading john and in the pafes it has a prayer and i dony know why i went there, i had bible open on mattress on my knees coz cieling was right there and i dont know if my eyes open closed was reading or m emorised just remember i done what it said, i wanted what was being offered i pleaded not for any reason other than i somehow believed the words and man i remember clear as day a tangible warmth wiegh on me, it qas warm it was like i was submerged in wayer warm water but i was dry and now mt eyes were squeezed so tight i was capitulated and im crying but not boohoo tears runnung from my closed eyes landing on the pages and i was trembling but not cold it was tangible, dont know how long it lasted the room seemed darker and i was scrambling for a book and pen i drew a pretty shitty pic of me hunched over bible and documented what happened still not sure of that myself but knew whatever it was it was real, it rattled me i embraced it but didnt think i could do it again and spent few years learning from a protestant that was barred from churches for being so hardlined about always check the book. learn the words that christ himself spoke and you will never be mislead by false preachers and they are everyehere and they are convincing the only protection is discernment from knowing.

Funny guy pastor [moderator edit] but he showed me the truth of Christianity is not going anywhere to learn its everywhere for everybody to read themselves now we have the internet the lord is giving everybody the chance of salvation with the words of Jesus himself no one enters the kingdom of God that is not sent by me. love each other but love me first with open mputh and open heart and the day of rapture my people will rise to the cherubs trumpets and ya know what im there. i went to so many churches as an observer and was horrified how many people think salvation is from works, they are lost few times like i said c3 was one my partner kept pulling my hand and a preacher says no one has ever suffered like my people and the lord wiill repay your generosity i just asked what they suffered more than Jesus sorry havent relived my calling for many years as i seriously could not find the word of god being sung or preached i didnt care if female preacher but i had it drummed into me about bible i fast forward got back into full time work tried volunteering for the hope of acceptance and i think they actually tried to make me welcome but the try was felt i stopped the bible i distanced being active never stopped identifying as a follower of Christ eventually back slid and went through some stuff real heavy stuff and didnt give him my yolk I'm going stop i just want to say thank you for bringing me into this conversation, its not lost on me that we are in his presence as he said himself two or more speak of me they worship the house of god.

i havent opened my NIV in years and that's subconscious above and id say guided coz i actually know somehow its all correct

Re: Loneliness

@REDLINEZ750 So good to hear your story. Jesus is awesome. i used to hate a lot of parts of the bible in my raging, as well as paranoid alter, while shamefully idolising many of the writings of mortal men about the bible in my religious self. This sure bit me in the bum, for when i read the bible through other peoples eyes i miss the voice of The Spirit, yet it was The Spirit i needed to learn to heed.

So i read the bible for about 7 years any time, all the time, whenever The Spirit told me to, or i felt the need to read it. However i would open the bible randomly, and read from the first line my eyes arrested, not just chapters or headings, and most importantly i read it to my heart. Always observing how my heart responded. This is how i learned to understand my alters, and the radical difference within myself between myself. This is also how i learned to understand that God speaks to me ALL the time (like psalm 19 tells us as well,) but that i far to often heeded my senses controlled by my mind, rather than the truth of God's love living within my heart. Yet this is what i had to learn to heed The Spirit and find life in the truths of the word rather than the lies my ill mind kept sprouting at me.

And so in The end Jesus took me on a Spiritual journey through the book of Revelation. A bible book which is all about Him being revealed inside the inner world of believers hearts, but has very little to do with the physical world we live in.

So very glad Jesus has come to dwell in my heart, for i have finally learned to love myself enough to stop judging myself to hell and let faith in Jesus and the grace and love of God transform me into a new person instead.

i have never looked back.

The Living Word Saves
Meeting Jesus down in my deepest Pit
brought an end to all my inner pain
For lovingly The Word made me fit
to have my Good Life back again.

First The Farmer pulled up my weeds
digging up the dirt and rocks within me
then lovingly sowing His Good Seeds
in time harvesting me most abundantly!

Yes The Word's Voice in the Spirit of Love
The Living Word brought me under His care
His love dwelling within me from up above
His everlasting Good Life with me to share.

So please do from your pit walk away
also farming His Good Life in your soul
finding New Life in God's Truth today
The LIVING WORD your constant goal.

Re: Loneliness

@Kashmina Hello it’s so good to meet you. How are you? I’m glad I was tagged here as I didn’t know this thread existed.

Yes loneliness is something affecting a lot of people. I’m in my 50’s too 🙂 I don’t really have people around me and feel so alone a lot of the time. It has an impact on my mental health like it does for other people too.

It’s good you are doing a course of study. I can understand how it’s unsettling doing stuff like advocacy because things in the world are tough and trying to make change can be stressful.

Are you feeling better after being sick? I do hope so.
