Mixed feelings-might be getting another diagnosis (ED)

I have multiple mental illnesses including Bipolar 2, cptsd, OCD, social anxiety. I’m also neurodivergent, ADHD and ASD. I already have tons of labels and a lot going on. I’m getting assessed for an ED on Monday during my psych appointment, I reckon I meet criteria so I am anticipating another diagnosis. I know it explains my how I’ve been feeling but it’s another label, I hate feeling so broken and feeling like I’m complicated. I know my disordered eating habits are adversely affecting my mental and physical health, I’ve just been in denial for so long and would also get defensive when people commented on my eating habits or asked about them.

@tyme I have been working on distress tolerance with my psych. I’m trying to get used to the new course but it’s just been hard. I just hope it stops affecting me this much.

I am too activated to do the deeper work. She wants my food intake to be adequate because that can have a significant effect on the outcome in therapy

Sounds like a lot on your plate at the moment @creative_writer . I'm hearing what she is saying about adequte food intake.

I hope it all works out for you because the current state sounds so distressing.

@tyme I know I can take breaks if something feels too triggering. I sort of wish the content was a bit less explicit. SA content is quite dominating.

I have gotten extensions for assignments but want to get them done soon. One of the assignments has very heavy triggering content.

Triggers are unavoidable. I need to learn ways to manage the distress

It is still feeling rough but I can only do the best I can. Body flashbacks are super hard

I feel overwhelmed. I’m trying to lower the distress but it’s hard when I keep feeling it over and over again

I’m trying to ground myself but I still feel so panicky. I know I can’t will a flashback away, I guess this is as good as it will get for now

I know I should be over it. Grounding helps a bit, but why am I still panicking? I must be doing something wrong. I must be the problem
