Mixed feelings-might be getting another diagnosis (ED)

Mixed feelings-might be getting another diagnosis (ED)
I have multiple mental illnesses including Bipolar 2, cptsd, OCD, social anxiety. I’m also neurodivergent, ADHD and ASD. I already have tons of labels and a lot going on. I’m getting assessed for an ED on Monday during my psych appointment, I reckon I meet criteria so I am anticipating another diagnosis. I know it explains my how I’ve been feeling but it’s another label, I hate feeling so broken and feeling like I’m complicated. I know my disordered eating habits are adversely affecting my mental and physical health, I’ve just been in denial for so long and would also get defensive when people commented on my eating habits or asked about them.

I guess it beats mould?? @creative_writer In my garage, I have a patch that is mouldy and needs replacing. The mould started because there was a leak in the roof. The leak has been sorted but the mould hasnt.. it's the garage, so it's not a priority.... but I don't like the look of it.

@tyme I hate the look of bacteria and mould. They give me the irks. We have some in our windows but it is hard to clean off and I wouldn’t want much contact with it. I suspect I am allergic. I am allergic to many things. I should probably vacuum, but it’s so hard when you have ADHD. I would hav to pick everything up from the floor, be mentally prepared to a vacuum and then vacuum. The multiple steps throw me off

And I think oil of clove would leave oil stains... right?

@tyme sometimes it worth spending money for in depth cleaning. It’s better than risking your own health. Professionals know how to manage less exposure. It’s not just my physical health at stake, but mycotoxins can affect mental health. I don’t need a significant exposure worsening my current mental health symptoms. We probably should do it soon, don’t know if one of the reason’s why my mental health has been shit.
Clove would probably leave oil stains, it would be worse on carpet than

Definitely! I can impact asthma sufferers big time.
Have you been in that house for a long time? @creative_writer

Re: Mixed feelings-might be getting another diagnosis (ED)
@tyme I don’t have asthma, but I am prone to ticklish feeling in my throat after experiencing a significant illness earlier in the year. I do have allergies.
Yes, I’ve been in the house for a long time. House requires maintenance every now and then. The changing the flooring and some cleaning needs to take place. I am definitely having allergy symptoms on a chronic basis, might be the house. Chronic allergies are enough to exhaust someone’s body over time. I know someone who has bad allergies and gets treatment, but she said it’s very costly. OTC stuff is very limited. This person also has trauma. There appears to be a link between trauma and allergies

Yes.. if you own a house, maintenance is ongoing @creative_writer
And it's interesting you mentioned about trauma and allergies. I wonder if trauma weakens your immune system (or in this case, fires it up)?
Who knows?

@tyme maybe it’s the gut brain connection. They probably feed into each other. Nobody feels good with a stuffy nose, but trauma might also affect immune system.
I’ve noticed I’ve developed a long list of food intolerances over the years. I think I developed IBS when I first became clinically depressed as a teen. I don’t think it’s a coincidence. I thought depression was bad as a teen, I’ve had far worse episodes since, my gut issues are probably worse now too. My dietician has done some research into the Med diet, they found it to be super effective for mental health. I’ve incorporated parts of the Med diet, but the focus is on ED recovery. I need my nutritional intake to be adequate. I have to balance food intolerances while managing the ED. I think IBS has a role in the development of my ED. It’s not great reacting to food.
The complexities of the human body is enough to make one’s head spin.

Sure sounds like it @creative_writer . IBS is a hard one and can flare up with anything. I don't even know what to say except that I hear how hard it is for you. All these sensitivities and intolerances can really impact wellbeing.

@tyme feeling bloated can also impact someone’s body image. It’s complex having to juggle multiple balls, but sometimes it’s what you need to do. I just want to feel better physically and emotionally. I’m hoping a combination of lifestyle, therapy and meds will pay off. Things are still a struggle but I’m trying to remind myself I’m better than I used to be
