Talking through trauma and PTSD

Therapy types

Therapy types

Seeking help, thoughts, info from life experiences etc

currently doing schema therapy for CPTSD and feeling have hit a wall.

been reading little bits about ACT therapy and wondering if could be worth talking with psychologist about next session in couple days time.

wondering what type of therapy might help me coming to terms with, and deal with, ongoing grief from loss of family members 40+ yrs ago.

Psychologist has mentioned EMDR various times. Not something I feel I can do

Re: Therapy types

Haha glad the nurses provide incidential entertainment lol! And so glad the pain meds are working, but hoping side effects are minimal.

Discharged earlier today. They only keep me for a few hours for it - just have tp be accompanied rest of day 😅.

Whenever i am dehydrated my veins are REALLY hard to find. If im not dehydrated they can be harder than average but not terrible.

I can imagine it would feel a little strange @Flutterbug9 💖

97% pain free must have been amazing! 🤩

Holistic support is always so validating and reassuring. How is everything feeling today?

This morning didn’t start off the best @AuntGlow Various possibilities why. Been feeling much better last few hours. Have had nice lunch and going for 2nd walk for the day.

Re: Therapy types

My veins are similar @AlwaysMyself I’m 3rd generation who ‘doesn’t have veins’ (family joke 🤣)

new side effects today in addition to heavy head feeling (3rd consecutive day I’ve had that for short period of time). Was given tablet by nurse which helped with new side effect. Don’t feel 100% on my feet (normal side effect says Dr), now using walking frame for rest of the week.

How are you feeling post procedure? Fully recovered?

Re: Therapy types

Im glad they could give something to reduce the new side effect @Flutterbug9 . Hoping that coping with a heavy head is easier whilst in a hospital and having nurse carers there? *hugs*

I am fully recovered from mine. Worked yesterday, and was allowed to drive again in the afternoon.

Quietish day at home for me today thankfully. Did some housework chores (go me!) And just settling down for prob 30min to start a new painting figurine. Then expecting a call. Then planning to take dogs to a cafe if i still have the energy to.

This is one of the figurines i picked up whilst visiting Melbourne.

Trying to do something i enjoyed in the past. And even when i dont feel enjoyment its still a good neutral to do to spend time.

@AuntGlow prompted by your question about "what do you want to experience?"

That figure is so cute @AlwaysMyself Be nice to see photo when you have it finished (no rush or pressure).

having the nursing staff as reassurance is really helping ease uncertainties

as part of admission Dr left info in my meds chart for tablet that can help me get decent night sleep whilst in the hospital. Even so, think I might be spending time in my bed catching up on sleep over the weekend.

based on all the reading I did, apart from collecting my cats from cattery plus initial appointment with new psychologist, I have made no plans for next week.

I need to spend some time trimming Coastal Rosemary in my front garden. Ends of branches resting on front windows, not what I want. Want to be able to have clear space between back of the plant and front of the house

You are like me @AlwaysMyself @and I’m guessing everyone else just mulling that over.
I was very excited about meeting this pastor at this barbecue the units had last Friday. He calls himself a pastor, but truthfully I have no idea why he thinks talking to me fuffilled any bit of healing or graciousness within himself because it did fa for me.
sorry becoming brash here.

I may have snooze…
