Our Dream Trip

Our Dream Trip

@Glisten @AlwaysMyself

I created this thread so we can talk about our dream trip, but if you'd prefer just to chat on already established threads that's cool too.

Father gave me this piece of advice when I was about 15 so I'm not sure that Steve Tyler was the first to say it 😋

Re: Our Dream Trip

@ENKELI looks like we've got more royalty on the forums!! 👑

and what a story omg! i can imagine this on an episode of 'horrible histories'. (p.s. i've added a spoiler tag to your post just in case the description is triggering for some, hope that's okay!)

canada would be gorgeous, i'd love to visit too! ooo and alaska too, would love to see the northern lights!

Re: Our Dream Trip

@ENKELI , @rav3n

One of my ancestors in 1800 travelling from Scotland to new Zealand got ship wrecked and lived on a tiny island and was rescued 6 months later

There is a book written about it

@rav3n @Shaz51 @ENKELI

Neither, I used free library sources, wouldn't mind doing one of the tests though

Re: Our Dream Trip

@Snowie I think you'[re right, just to say you gambled in Vegas would be so cool!

A friend of mine convinced me to go to the casino with her and I lost $50. I never gambled again. I rarely put lottery tickets in, I just don't have the luck of the Irish even if my heritage tells me I do!

Re: Our Dream Trip

@rav3n all good re the tag, Because I've heard the story so many times it doesn't bother me but I can see how it might others.

One of my relatives jumped ship in Broome and ended up becoming a pearler, and there is a town in the Goldfields of WA named after the horse of another relative. I always thought my family was boring until mum started doing genealogy and told me these stories.

Re: Our Dream Trip

@avant-garde i'm curious to try one of those ancestry kits too! there's very little information about my ethnic group available, and even the info online are unfortunately not super accurate. a part of me wants to be surprised by the results.

@ENKELI woah there's so much interesting stories and history in your line!! like @Shaz51, there might need to be a book about your family line too! neither of my parents cared to ask about their genealogy when they were younger, so now i have little info too. but i do know that my ethnic group is considered a 'warrior race', and there's some ghost/spirit stories i've heard. that's about it 😅

Re: Our Dream Trip

@Shaz51 I want a house built just near that last photo you posted!

And a winter cabin in Jasper, Canada. I can't post any personal photos but here is one that shows the beauty of the backdrop of mountains.

Re: Our Dream Trip

Haha @ENKELI I never buy lottery tickets either. I get annoyed if I loose $10!

It's not some place I'd go back to. Not because it wasn't great but because there are so many more places I want to go. Next trip is to Europe with Hubby
