Our Dream Trip

Our Dream Trip

@Glisten @AlwaysMyself

I created this thread so we can talk about our dream trip, but if you'd prefer just to chat on already established threads that's cool too.

Father gave me this piece of advice when I was about 15 so I'm not sure that Steve Tyler was the first to say it 😋

Re: Our Dream Trip

@AlwaysMyself I spent 3 days in LA at the end of my trip but by then I was almost out of money and wanting to go home. You definitely need at least a week to scratch the surface, I skipped Disneyland and Universal Studios as it was school holidays in the US - their spring break - so everywhere was teeming with kids.

I kicked myself that I didn't go to New York as it's only about 1.5 hours by train. Next time I want to go there.

And Vegas! Oh my I'd love to go there too!

I have a very good friend living in New Jersey and I've promised my first stop will be to see her.

Agreed on the humidity in Bali! I've been 5 times and want to take mum again. We used to have a "Mother/Daughter Bondage (bonding lol!) trip every couple of years and we always enjoyed our time together.

So long as it's a steam sauna and not infra-red I'll be happy. I'm a purist at heart when it comes to saunas lol!

Re: Our Dream Trip

@Snowie oh I can imagine it would be. We will have to go to Vegas for a couple of days so we can experience the lights. I don't gamble so I'd be safe there lol!

Re: Our Dream Trip

@AuntGlow I grew up with ‘family means everything’. I have lots of verbal stories of ancestors generations ago, would love to go to the places in those stories. I have very fond memories of a great uncle and aunt and their family in a small Victorian town. A family of parents and children where everyone was welcome.

if only a Time Machine existed ……

@ENKELI @AlwaysMyself @avant-garde River cruises, especially through Europe. Relax in comfort whilst trying to take in the sights of the buildings and scenery.

Trip I thought about doing years ago, would still do. London to Amsterdam then heading south, finally arriving in Italy and seeing the Trevi Fountain

@AlwaysMyself oo do let us know how Menjangan goes! i stayed in Seminyak and visited Ubud, Canggu, Kuta and a couple of the popular places. everyone had said 'bali's sooo much cheaper than aus!' so we had high expectations... but then we found that the prices were almost similar 😅

next time i visit, want to try explore some more of the hidden gems there.

Re: Our Dream Trip

Wondering if I can join in here?

my dream trip would be to visit all the Disney parks around the world with my daughter. We have done the original Disneyland in California a few years ago and then the beginning of this year we did Disney Paris.
Id also love to visit Greece and also South Africa to do an African safari.

I’ve been lucky and have a traveled a bit, starting in 2003 when I was 21 I went and did camp counsellor in USA. I had the best time ever spending 4mths there. I then spent 3 mths in Canada and had a white Christmas. I checked out Niagara Falls twice, once in spring and then again when it was froze over.
I did a church missions trip to India and Malaysia. And then one to the Philippines and Singapore.
My work sent me to NZ with one of my clients to see her family. That was heaps awesome cause it hardly cost me a cent!

Thailand was cool.
i absolutely loved London with my daughter a few years ago. Went for a friends wedding. Did a day trip to Paris on the train. And then stopped off in California for Disney on our way home. We then did the same trip to London for Christmas last year and my mum came. We explored a bit out of London this time, heading north with a hire car. Seen family. Went to Wales. Windsor for legoland. Then we headed to Paris for a few days this time which was amazing! Disneyland. We seen more sights cause we had more time. Paris is beautiful in both the summer and the winter.
I absolutely love London. I could live there.

But my dream trip… All the Disneyland’s.
Disney World in Orlando.

Disney Resort in Tokyo.

Disneyland Resort in Hong Kong

Disneyland Resort in Shanghai

oh and of course a cruise at some point too.

I think Tokyo will be next. But my mum wants to do another trip (she got her passport and traveled internationally for the first time at Christmas at the age of 67) and she said she wants to go to NZ…, so maybe that will be next cause she won’t go on her own.

Re: Our Dream Trip

Re: Our Dream Trip

They scare her a bit @rav3n

yeah the rides are a big attraction, but there’s so many other things too. Character spotting, pin trading, the parades and all the yummy food.
