Our Dream Trip

Our Dream Trip

@Glisten @AlwaysMyself

I created this thread so we can talk about our dream trip, but if you'd prefer just to chat on already established threads that's cool too.

Father gave me this piece of advice when I was about 15 so I'm not sure that Steve Tyler was the first to say it 😋

Re: Our Dream Trip

@AlwaysMyself you know, I was actually thinking Bali could be good for this! What area would you recommend that's not too touristy?

PS: @ENKELI you can come too. hehe

@Former-Member it sounds like there is a real heart-led desire to connect with your family and roots, that's beautiful.

@avant-garde reading your words made me tear up, there's such a sense of hope and wonder in them - I can relate to this a lot.

@Snowie the architecture in Europe is incredible, I really hope you can make it there at some point.

@Appleblossom it sounds like you gained so much for your travels, what a magical experience. What music festivals do you enjoy going to now?

Thank you all for sharing. 🥰

@AuntGlow I've had friends go to Europe and have loved their photos. I am determined to make it there.

I have already done, Bali, Thailand, Japan, NZ and USA and everywhere in Aus except NT.

Re: Our Dream Trip

@Snowie welcome aboard, we're glad to have you travelling with us!

Where in the US did you go and where were your favourite spots?

For me I loved San Diego and Philadelphia most 😊

Re: Our Dream Trip

Wow! Everyone has such lovely ideas for dream holiday, and great experiences of past trips. 🥰

@AuntGlow re: Bali for a quiet retreat. I looked up the place someone I know went: Blue Karma Ubud (https://bluekarmasecrets.dijiwasanctuaries.com/at/bluekarmaubud).

Budget is a popular cultural and retreat area in Bali, but due to being popular may not be the cheapest. But it is easy to get to.

I am going to Menjangan for a few night before home on my trip - it is north-west Bali and much cheaper but out of the way. The accommodation is better value, but the transport to/from costs more due to time/distance. I will see what it is like!

I'd like to go visit North Qld too (but in winter). @Shaz51 can be my guide there 😋.

@Appleblossom I completely agree about the value of learning during travels. Seeing various countries has been great for getting perspective sometimes too.

Hi @ENKELI

I loved San Diego too.

I also loved Las Vegas at night. All the lights were amazing.

Re: Our Dream Trip

@AlwaysMyself Do they have sauna at any of these places in Bali?

I’ve never been. I get very stressed if I don’t have sauna.

Re: Our Dream Trip

@Snowie @ENKELI I'd love to visit LA, Vegas and New York to see what its like because of what we see/hear in movies/tv. I hear it really is 24/7 activity, and that just amazes me. I would likely dislike living there, but I'd love to visit and see it.

@Glisten @ Sauna in Bali... good question. It is a hot and humid climate, especially during the monsoon season. So perhaps the outdoors could almost be a sauna??

There are definitely some resorts in Bali that will have a sauna. So we will just have to find one with both Yoga and Sauna! Maybe a bikram yoga?? (That's the hot heat yoga right?? I would not survive haha)
