Sane Tour De Aus!

Sane Tour De Aus!

@AlwaysMyself

Here is a thread where we can support each other to use our mini cycles.

I plan to watch tv while I do it. I might put some of the big world’s cycling races on the telly on SBS on demand while I do it. I need to decide how often I want to try and use it.

@Oaktree way to go

Did I explain why I bought mine? I have a bung right knee. 2 injuries during my teens with no medical attention at that time in my life left my patella (Kneecap) prone to dislocating

Not frequently. But often enough that I have a routine for when it happens (Basically just laying down until it pops back, then rest for an hour)

30 years of that lead to arthritis

The physiotherapist said that knees love stationary bikes. Since there is no twisting. So little chance of popping out or re-injuring ligaments etc

Sorry about your knee.

Strangely enough a couple of years ago I did something to the back of my left knee and it is really painful walking up hills. I never sought medical help. Still don’t know exactly what I did to it. I was hoping it would heal over time but no such luck I’m afraid. I didn’t have any trouble with it on the mini cycle.

Re: Sane Tour De Aus!

That sounds very ouch @DogMan79 ! I have arthritis in my knees too, but not too much thankfully. I was 21 when I found out that was part of the cause of the knee pain, and they also recommended cycling and swimming to me because its non-weight-bearing and strengthens the muscles (as I have maltracking patellas).

Well done @Oaktree ! 😄 im proud of you!

I also found it hard to type while cycling 😅. And my dog wasnt keen on my legs moving and jostling his legs either hahaha.

2 minutes and 28 seconds

My heart rate stayed around 95, never over 100. But I just lack stamina in general

It doesn’t matter how much you do as long as you do something. You will build up over time. I am proud of you!

something is definitely better than nothing!

Day Two Sane Tour de Aus!

Will you have a rest day or will you get on your bike?

I am thinking I will cycle today. I might take Thursdays and Fridays off as I am at Tafe those days.

edit: I just completed my daily time on my mini cycle. Yay!!!

Thanks for the tag @Oaktree ! I've got the TV on as I just finished folding the washing. I shall jump on the cycle now while I am still watching this episode!! I hadn't thought of it until I saw your post/tag! 😁

Re: Sane Tour De Aus!

@Oaktree @DogMan79 @AlwaysMyself it's only 16 degrees here in my patch of Perth so I am happy to cycle just to warm up!

I am starting at 5 minutes and want to get up to 10 minutes. I am aiming for every day but have promised myself not to get upset if I miss a day.

I've got Youtube on and playing a variety of 80's music as I cycle 😁

Hope y'all are doing well xo
