Sane Tour De Aus!

Sane Tour De Aus!

@AlwaysMyself

Here is a thread where we can support each other to use our mini cycles.

I plan to watch tv while I do it. I might put some of the big world’s cycling races on the telly on SBS on demand while I do it. I need to decide how often I want to try and use it.

Nice @ENKELI @! I love that you've also found one nice and cheap. 😄 i love looking at second hand and Charity stores for things I can give a second life and also save some $$

@DogMan79 well done for quitting the ciggies! You are to be commended as I know how hard it was for me to quit. You got this! 👍

Re: Sane Tour De Aus!

I did it! My first 5min+ cycle (in years)!

And i figured out how to "share my dog" (or one of them) without actually sharing anything uniquely identifying! So you all get to suffer with a partial dog-and-cycling pic lol. Cos I love my dogs. Even though only 1 is in this.

@AlwaysMyself yaaay!! Well done! I am waiting for the photo to be approved so I can see your doggo. What sort of dogs do you have? I am more of a cat person, although I did have a border collie that I loved. I sometimes think about getting another dog but I think Kelly ruined me for any other dogs.

Re: Sane Tour De Aus!

Thanks @ENKELI . Border collies are lovely dogs, and so smart. One of my best friends had one and it was super smart and super trainable and people-focused. One of the best dogs i've known. I can understand not wanting another dog after having a good one, and going through the grief when they pass.

I currently (and hopefully for another 10+ years) have a Borzoi and a borzoi-cross. Because borzoi are an uncommon breed, im cautious to post photos as they are too easily identifiable 🤣. But the photo is of my borzoi-cross' feet, so theyre nothing unique to identify 🤣🤣.

Borzoi is Russian for "fast". Like a greyhound, but not quite as fast. They were bred from greyhound as an ancestor. Im sure they would love to run along side a bicycle, but its too much risk on-lead. Oohh there is a bush track that's a fenced offlead area. Maybe one day I should try cycling there if I get off road tyres on my partners bike. That would be fun for them to run with me.

Re: Sane Tour De Aus!

Along the running off-topic lines, I have 2 cockatiels

My psychologist described them as a kind of metaphor for my trauma journey. And I reminded her that "Fight/Flight" literally describes bird behaviour (Flight)

They are good for me. Mammals tend to have higher emotional dependence on their human. Flock behaviours suit me better than that of packs or (Whatever cats do)

ON topic, my little op shop buy is good, Except getting into the foot holds initially. I'm not dextrous in any way, and it can take quite an effort to get into place, prior to even beginning the workout

My smartwatch has a stationary bike setting. It is not as inforative as things where it can measure speed, distance etc

The foot thingy’s on my pedals are hard to put my feet into initially too. I have decided just to work out in socks to make it easier. I am going to go do it right now so that I don’t forget. See you in a few. Not sure how long I plan to do initially. I might try for 10 minutes and see how I go.

I am on my mini cycle now and I have set a timer. It’s hard to type accurately while cycling lol.

Yay I am finished. My timer went off. I am proud of myself and I am proud of you guys too. Maybe I will try and do every day? We’ll see. I need to print out a timetable and do some time blocking.
