Something’s not right

I am not doing so well

I am not doing so well

I am really not doing so well & I am struggling. I can't seem to function too well atm. I am shutting down. I saw my psych today, and she doesn't think doing exercise science is going to be good choice to study because there is not much work available in this field.

I am not able to articulate too well, what is happening for me. I am just exhasuted and scared and alone.

Kira is a nut that is for sure.

She is now kicking me in bed she is right under the aircon she has to cool down after her run through the house. At least the household detective still makes me smile.

I wish I could just open up and say whatever is on my mind and I think I have the same worries as you but I can't explain it as well as you.

@oceangirl I think you can explain it just the same - but not necessarily right now when you are so unsure of yourself.

... and yes Kira is a nut - but an adorable nut

I am not sure how I will cope with it. I actually had not told her about it because I was not sure what I was doing and I was kinda hoping she would be excited for me. I think if it I was just doing a 1 year course at uni she would be happy for me (grad dip exercise science).

My concern is if I start and pull out its not going to be very good for my confidence. In any case I have until tomorrow to make a decision. I did accpt my offer and I am still waiting for my credit application to be finialized I am not sure how much credit I will receive. I am leaning towards not doing the course.

Then the question about hospital would be either be NSW or Nth Qld. NSW to do more process work or go to NTH Qld. I think I will phone hospital tomorrow and get thing started and I am scared because uni will be off the table for me. Perhaps I am sad because that phase of my life is over.

@oceangirl

It does seem like you have already made a decision but that doesn't mean that phase of your life is over - it just isn't the right time for you now! Can you defer you place?

Try not to be scared about not going to uni if you chose that path. You will find your place in the world - it is just going to take a bit more time

If you do decide to go to hospital what are the factors you need to consider when choosing between NSW and Nth Queensland? What will make you feel safer and the most comfortable?

I am able to defer I think I didn't really check when I accepted the offer.

I think once I make the decision not to go to uni I think I will be relieved a bit with this decision.

I am not sure between NSW or North Qld - I have never been to the clinic in Nth Qld. The difference is the intensity of the program and Nth Qld will be more relaxed I think. I am just going to go with the clinic in Sydney and if they say no I will look at somewhere in Qld.

Re: I am not doing so well

Hi @oceangirl, I hope you have had a good sleep and I hope your fun decision-free day will help to clear your head a bit. I'd prefer not to say what my degree is in at the moment - I already feel like I overshare on the forums . However, I will tell you that I graduated with first class honours in 2015. It was such a monumental effort and I don't know how I'm ever going to come to terms with never using the degree if that turns out to be the way things go. Don't let people sway you with lines like "a degee will be useful in whatever you do" or "education is never wasted." Yes it is. Last week my psychologist and I were talking about whether perhaps starting up a house cleaning business would be a good fit for me. In some ways it might be...but I can tell you now, my twelve years of study will not in any way be useful in helping me clean other peoples' toilets!!!! I'm sorry, I can feel my own hopelessness drifting onto your puzzle. I hope you have a super fun day today

Re: I am not doing so well

Hi @Phoenix_Rising

I didn't sleep too bad last night but I have struggled most of the day. I am trying to stay positive. I understand how you feel about your university studies and how much it has taken out of you. I don't think you are alone in finishing a degree and not going into that field of work.

I am not going to be swayed into study because first off doing a university degree is quite expensive and I am not sure if I want to do any further studies.

I didn't do too much today I spend most of the day in bed, and just went door to the shops and payed some bills and got some sushi for dinner. I am just cooking some dinner for my dog and then I might just watch some TV.

How was your day?
