You are both welcome @Former-Member . It is wonderful to receive your message too
I am glad she has improved in the way she speaks to you and your husband. Perhaps she needs someone to talk to her other then her parents some times young adults don't listen to there parents- one day I am sure she will come back and thank you for all you have done for her. I do know the best people to help her are her parents because noone will love and care for her like her mum & dad.
I would encourage her to meet new people because she will experience new things and feel better about herself when surrounded by a better quality person and hopefully then she will make better choices in her friends. I just hope she can put her focus on what she is good at and further her skills and competencies in that area.
I do hear what you are saying though and how hard it is for you to watch her makes mistakes and I think if she is being taken advantage of by others, I would talk to her about it, I know you probably have but perhaps explain to her, how her choices will ultimately affect her quality of life. I know she is an adult but keep in mind her brain is not fully developed yet and she may not understand the impact of what may occur in the future.
I truly would focus in on what she is good at and that will improve her self esteem and confidence, and also to set some goals and that will also have the same effect for her. There are many options for young people- in terms of education, training and the workforce. She can also look at getting different scholarships for education or joining the miltary to have her education paid for and that might motivate her to make changes and hopefully better choices.
I am just staying in tonight and cooking a nice meal and about 8pm I am meeting a friend for coffee and cake and then I might come home and just watch a DVD. In the morning I am heading to the local swimming pool for a swim. I hope you have a peaceful and relaxing evening. Sending you lots of warm hugs....
